PCW and PGA help...

Can anybody help me with some history? I need history on Canada's Wonderland and PGA/Marriott's Great america for a project I'm working on. Timelines, history, trivia is welcome. I've searched Google and haven't found enough info.

Infact, anything about all the paramount parks would be appreciated.

One of the only random links I have is below:
http://americas.best.vwh.net/mga/sw05.html

I'll be sure to check my work computer tomorrow for a few more old school PGA sites I think I still have book marked.

I also have a bunch of old PGA photos my parents took from the first few seasons of operations so feel free to PM me and I can scan them up for you if needed.

Good luck with your project,

With wonderland, there used to be a page somewhere I remember which showed exactly what was new each year somewhere... I remember the park opened up in like 1981 with 5 or 6 coasters. It was somewhere on their main page under some trivia section. They had something where it mentioned exactly how many trees were planted, bushes, flowers, bricks, amount of cement, coaster track... etc.

Here on this site, they have almost all the maps from '81 until current as well as a listing of every single ride (not just coasters) and the stats on them (including year added)... so with a little research, that's a little time-line on the rides themselves.

Tecno:

This site offers the best pics and history of both Great America parks (Illinois and Cali). *** Edited 1/14/2005 3:06:19 PM UTC by Chitown***

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

This may help a little as well: http://www.thrillride.com/stealth/stealth.html.
Mostly an in-depth look at Stealth, it also has some info about the park's early years

They Live. We Sleep.

Dawgbite it right, Paramount used to have timelines for each of their parks on their site, but I couldn't find the one for PGA anymore.

Here's another site though with some great info, not exactly for the parks you're looking for, but does have some info on the other Paramount Parks:

http://www.themeparktimelines.com/

And if you need any info on PGA history, feel free to PM me (up until the last few years, used to be a regular since the park first opened in 1976).
