Pay for rides

Why do you have to pay fors rides like the sky coater.
Because if they let you ride for free, you'd be waiting all day, if not longer. Think about it - the capacity is only 3 people !

This way, the park can offer additional thrill attractions, and make some extra money at the same time.

Current favorite coasters:
Wooden: 1) Beast 2) Raven 3) Son of Beast 4) The Boss 5) Timber Wolf
Steel: 1) Raging Bull 2) Millennium Force 3) V2 4) Wild Thing 5) Mr. Freeze
Actually, I've heard somewhere that parks have to continually pay the Skycoaster people and whatnot. Almost like a lease.

That may have been false info, though. Anyone else know more?

I wouldn't think they lease those rides, because they are operated by park employees, not outside contracted employees (such as for the laser show). I'd think that capacity would have more to do with it, and the opportunity to gain more profit. What's interesting is that very few people complain that these attractions cost extra, whereas if they were to charge even $1 for a coaster I'm sure we'd all be wailing. Still riding, of course, but less than pleased with paying for it above the admission price.
