Partridge Family at Kings Island

I know the episode where the Brady Bunch went to Kings Island, but I never knew the Partridge Family filmed an episode there until last week.

My partner had gotten some Partridge Family dvd's from Netflix and that is where I saw this one. Episode started off with them playing in front of the fountain and the Eiffel Tower and skyride behind them.

It showed them riding Racer, Antique Cars and a few other rides. I guess the hotel they were staying at on tv was the one at Kings Island, since when they showed them at the pool you could see the interstate.

I wasn't a big fan of the Partridge Family back then so I guess this is why I never saw it.

C'mon get happy!

;)

Hmm...well, KI was owned by a media company back then. I always wondered why they'd film TV shows there when it would have been cheaper (I presume) to film closer to Hollywood.

Damnit, now I have that song stuck in my head. Thanks alot.:)

There is no better sound than that of a wooden rollercoaster climbing the first hill

what season was it

I believe it was season 3.

Thanks for the link, there was some really great footage of the park in those. It is interesting to see how the park has changed since then. I remember when it was like that, man I'm getting old.:)

That has to be the cheesiest, most hysterical thing I have seen. ;) I have seen the Brady Bunch episode MANY times but I don't think I have ever seen the Partridge Family episode until now. I don't remember. I may have seen it once.....YEARS ago. :)

It's one of those things where it's SO bad that you can't help but laugh. It's always cool seeing old footage of the park, though. :)

The park was owned by Taft Broadcasting at the time and Paramount, who produced both the Brady Bunch and the Partridge Family, was a major shareholder of Taft Broadcasting. They used their TV shows to help promote the new park. The Partridge Family episode first aired in 1972 the opening year of the park, and the Brady Bunch aired a year later in 1973.

As a kid on the East Coast, we had to wait a few years before Taft built the seconbd park...but it was really cool, esp. Hanna Barbera Land (RIP). Of course, Jeff Siebert made sure we got to watch ALL of the 70s-era KI footage. ;)

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

I remember that episode, actually I remember a lot of them. And yes, I have several of their albums on vinyl (plus I used to collect the bubblegum cards). I was just listening to their Christmas album on CD over the holidays. :) Actually, the studio musicians and singers they used were quite talented.

Interesting they chose to use the song "Together We're Better" for this episode, which included footage of a brand new racing roller coaster.

I see Danny Bonaduce was living dangerously even back then- standing up on the log ride like that!

I couldn't believe that when I saw it. I wasn't sure if he was standing up or what.
