Part of Wyandot Lake may be relocated

It would really be bad to lose that picnic grove... its the nicest part of the park. I have heard of these plans for the road for several years now, but I just don't know when it is gonna happen.

WL tried to aquire 19 additional acres (of Safari Golf Course Land) a few years agao, but since Premeir parks didn't give the zoo a finalized plan of what they would do with the land, the Zoo wouldn't let them have it.

Now the zoo owns land on the North side of Powell Rd with they bought an additional 130 acres of just a couple years ago in addition to what they owned before. They also own land on the South side of Powell (the Main Zoo and WL is on the South side of Powell Rd) But this land is a little bit east and seperated by a church. The Zoo offered to build the church in a diffeerent location further down Powell Rd, but I haven't heard anything on that just yet.....

If they played their cards right, It would be nice to see the church located and a bunch of land alowed to Wyandot

jimmybob- Its a small park that lacks a big, major addition each season, but it probably has a steady stream of faithful patrons coming through the gates each year that are happy with the place as it is. If its small but makes money, I'm sure that SF would rather keep it that way instead of investing tons of money and risk not getting a return on it.

Just because people keep coming back doesn't mean they're all happy with the place as it is. For the moment, they do OK because none of the other pools in the area has a wave machine, and because a season pass is good at any Six Flags park.

It's a shame. Columbus is a market that could easily sustain a mid-sized amusement park, perhaps something about the size of a LeSourdsville Lake. Wyandot Lake could be that perfect urban amusement park for the Columbus area, but it is poorly developed. And Six Flags can't or won't develop it, and a competitor isn't going to develop anything in the area either. Why? I give you three reasons: Cedar Point, Kings Island, and Geauga Lake.
