Would you like to see parks stay open 24 hours ride coasters & rides all night long? Any inputs.
I went to Disneyland all night for grad-night. It was really cool riding the Matterhorn at 4AM.
Other than all-night parties, I don't know if the market would support it. Besides, a lot of communities have noise curfews, etc. And who would want to work all night for minimum wage? It's hard enough to staff a park as it is.

Forget about it. It can't be THAT bad!
I think that would kick some ***!!!

That would be cool if it was once a year like on New Year's or something! Just think of how empty the parks would be at 3 AM I would be loving it!

That is a nice thought. But you need to remember that the park never really 'closes'. I mean, it is closed to us. But as soon as we leave, the clean up crew and the maintenance people move in.
This would never ever ever happen to any park for an entire season. Reason being... how'd you boot the guests out that only paid for one day admission vs. season pass?
If we are going in theory, just humoring you... I would say that it wouldn't even be a good ideal altogether unless it was once in a good occassion kind of deal.
Reason being? The park would get pretty damn dirty! I mean, during a typical day at the park, there are litter bugs everywhere you look. Spitters around every corner. The ground, bushes, and landscaping (along with any bodies of water at the park) can get quite cluttered with empty cups, napkins, uneaten food... etc etc etc.
It wouldn't be pretty if the maintaince didn't have their time in the park to clean it up without the crowds being in the way.
Sure, they do it during the day... but not thourall (spell?) enough. When I leave the park at night in the parking lot, it's CLUTTERED with all kinds of garbage... when I get to the park in the morning before it opens... it's sparkly clean! Kind of makes me 2nd guess about yelling at my little brother to pick up that can he dropped.
Every bit helps!
Either way, my only gripe is the cleanliness of the park's well being, and wondering how would they distinguish season pass guests from single day admission pass people?
Well, Believe it or not, Thorpe Park in England did actually try this once as an experiement, and when it started it proved to be Quite Popular believe it or not, But unfortunutly, it didnt last long, because people were basiclly abusing the system for staying too long(basiclly, they couldnt control the crowds when they tryed to force people out the next day) and there was other general problems with it anyway.
Its a Nice Idea, but you will easily see the same problems that happened at Thorpe Park(People staying longer than they should, Some People will be sensible, but a Lot wont be)
What they could do is at 6 AM or so, when people have to leave to go to work, ect., close down the park for a half an hour to a hour to force everyone out of the park, to clean it up a little, and give the rides a break. This might work!
Realisticly, I doubt we will ever see it due to the fact that its a drain on our already dwindling power supply, and it creates more breakdowns due to the rides not getting a break

I remember SFDL (before they were owned by six flags) used to be open extra late on 4th of July, the rides would run during, and after the laserlight show...but they don't do that anymore :(

I have always thought about this and hoped PKI would do something like this. Here is what I would want to happen. Three nights a season (one each month, June, July, August) Season passholders would have an opportunity to spend a night at PKI. For an additional fee + a season pass you would be allowed in the park from 11 pm until 9 am the next morning. I know this will never happen, but it is nice to dream about the possibilities.
This would be a cool idea for a special, but not as a season-long policy. I know it takes a long time to maintain and inspect roller coasters every morning as the parks do, and if you are open 24 hours a day, every day, this would be nearly impossible.
If it ever happened at a park near me, I would go. It would be cool to ride coasters all night long. Imagine seeing the sunrise while on the lift of your favorite coaster!
I gotta admit being at a theme park at dusk is great... On Titan media day we were there at 15 and rode Titan just as the sun was rising. It was amazing... Amazingly chilly too.

The Closest to this would probably be at the Magic Kingdom on holidays, I was there last Easter break and it was open from 7Am-12AM. This would never happen on a regular basis but it is a really cool idea for the fourth of July or something like that.
