Parks near Myrtle Beach

Ok, I need a little help here. My family is going to Mertle Beach this August, and they're dragging me along. The ocean bores me, so I was wondering if any of you knew about any good parks to visit near Mertle Beach. I've never been to that part of the country before.

There are two parks with coasters in Myrtle Beach, SC. You can look them up in this sites Coaster database. First is Family Kingdom with the Swamp Fox woodie... Next is Myrtle Beach Pavilion Amusement Park with the brand new Hurricane woodie, plus a junior and a Mad Mouse. Hope this helps.

Man, you gotta check out the Hurricane at the Pavilion. It rocks. My wife and I just got back from our coaster tour (13 parks, 60+ coasters) and we agree that, hands down, the Hurricane was the surprise ride of the trip. It has incredible laterals (probably the most intense of any woodie I've been on), some nice air, and an insane sensation of speed - it FEELS faster than any coaster I've ever been on, including the Millenium Force, because of the tightness of the turns. And it is so smooth. Truth be told, we went to the park only because it was on the way, and I was much more looking forward to riding the Swamp Fox (which was a big disappointment). But I'm glad we did - we ended up liking the Hurricane more than most of the coasters we couldn't wait to ride, including the Villain at SFO, Twister at Knoebels, and even The Legend at Holiday World. Enjoy.
