Parks closing early on Labor Day

Due to the miserable rainy weather on Labor Day, SFStL closed at 3:00 (they were scheduled to be open until 8:00). I was wondering if any other parks closed early.
I don't know if SFGAd closed early or not since we left early, but I did notice that they had no closing time listed which leads me to believe they did.

The rain held off for the couple hours we were there and it was excellent. I was very impressed that Nitro was running 3 trains with no line. We had 40 rides without ever leaving the train. :)

40 rides!?

sfwoa stayed open till their posted 7:00 pm time. they actually opened more rides throughout the day, like the log flume and double loop. no big dipper though. :(

I would have expected SFWoA to have closed early, they have done it to me before :(

I hope the low attendance on the last "big" weekend isn't the last straw for some parks not getting new rides next year...

I'm surprised that attendance was low at these parks. Last Labor Day I was at LaRonde, and it was packed.

But did it rain solid all day long last Labor Day?

The weather this weekend was pretty miserable for IN, OH, MI, and I don't know how many other states as a slow moving front dumped rain all day long. I stayed inside and played RCT2

it was a light rain the entire day. it stopped right when we got there and picked up again after we rode the good coasters at least once.

Rain Rain go away! I was unable to make to Cp this year for labor day because the weather here in NY was horrible.

Your Park only has 1 good coaster! That's too bad!

I was at SFMW yesterday and the weather was nice so, obviously the park stayed open til posted closing of 8:00. They said there were about 10K people, which was about as packed as a high season Sun.

Cedar Point stayed open until 8 even though the park was almost empty. There were 3 rows of cars in the parking lot at noon, and they dwindled down after that. It rained on and off all day, drizzling in between showers. By 6:30 all the rides were walk-on, including Millennium Force which was even sending out trains half empty! I got tons of rides in on everything and had a great time. It wasn't very cold out so the rain actually felt good (except when I was going 90 mph in it!)

Had the weather forecast not been screwed up by the weatherman, I think it would've been much more crowded at SFA. It didn't storm until the park closed at 8pm. It was a perfect day otherwise, with temperatures in the 80's.

Pouring rain all day at CP yesterday, walk ons for everything. One train op on all rides but Iron Dragon and Millie. All the coasters were open except for Dragster (if it would have been open OUCH!), Mean Streak (not sure why), Gemini (it's electronic eyes don't work in rain), Wildcat (I doubt the brakes would be very effective), Woodstock (tire drive), and "That Dog" of an enclosed ride that closes whenever it sprinkles.

If given the choice I'd choose a hamburger over a hotdog anyday of the week.

CP was sweet on monday, we got to the park at about 3, rode MF twice, Raptor twice, Magnum twice, Corkscrew once, swan boats and cadillac cars for the heck of it, and Mantis once and Sky ride once, and left at about 6, all rides were walkon, even with one car operation MF had 2 and so did corkscrew. Millennium Force hurt a bit though, but damn near walk on, how can you beat that.

Kennywood closed at 2, Idlewild closed at 8.

I wish I would have went to CP. I was planning on it, but changed my mind Monday morning after looking at the weather. I did not think that they would open up MF in the rain.

I regret to inform you that Cedar Point's newest roller coaster, Top Thrill Dragster will not be operational today, or tomorrow or probably any day that you decide to visit our park. Please accept our apologies.

Please tell me thats a typo. 40? no way

Nope, that's not a typo. We hardly had any Nitro rides this year so it was the perfect opportunity.
