Actually, redman, inverted_one, and GregLeg all mentioned IB, dawnmarie.

Take a ride...

Dollywood has one great coaster and one fun indoor coaster, but my family and I have never been able to see all of Dollywood in less than three full days. It's not a thrill park, but it is one impressive little place if you take the time to enjoy all that it has to offer. You couldn't even see all the shows in one day and Dolly Parton's new museum is an attration in itself.

Lake Compounce is my other pick for best all day park with only a few coasters.

A-ha! I got an answer no one has mentioned yet: Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk!

That LOOKED like a great place 'Moosh....even got pics from the beach of the Boardwalk and the rides....talked to the guy working on the carousel. Someday, we'll get back there *before* they close for the season....1 day late....argh!
SFMM is a nice small park to visit... lol ah UK parks... good for 1 day Drayton Manor, CWoA is also good, it is easy to do Thorpe park in under a day and Alton Towers is just a monster park. Other small parks... there are heaps around, but i only suggest staying for a few hours... I'v been to las Vegas, and i spent one whole day at the adventure dome. I thought the Canyon Blaster was quite cheap so i rode it 40 times or so, can't remember how many lol. Hmm Luna Park In australia (Melbourne), is also a good park... Scenic Railway being built in 1917 or something (although a couple people died on it a few years back :S) Also in Australia, all the Theme Parks in Queensland are worth a day at; my favourite being Dreamland.
BGW, BGT, Canobie Lake are three that come to my mind (and havent been posted yet)

------------------
I don't care what anyone says, Magnum is better then Millenium Force.

Some may not want to spend the whole day and if not PKI is only 20 minutes away but I can have a full fun filled day at Lesourdsville Lake and it only has 2 adult coaster including one Daym good WOODIE. It also has easily one of the best log flumes in existance.

Chuck, still awaiting word from the park

Confirmed, Lesourdsville Lake opening for 2003 details soon at Lesourdsville.com

Yes... definitely Busch Gardens Williamsburg & Dollywood. The Disney parks are generally worth a day, especially if you have children with you. I imagine IOA is too, but I haven't had the chance to visit yet.

Here in the Pacific Northwest ,I can easily spend an entire day at Silverwood and the PNE/Playland.

------------------
Lets' save the Vancouver PNE Coaster before its'too late!

I'm extremely surprised that people have mentioned Epcot (which is almost a ghost town these days), but not the Magic Kingdom. A mere three coasters (only one of which I can both go on and actually enjoy), and yet I could spend at least two days in a row there.

Not to mention MGM/Disney Studios, which is worth a day, despite only one coaster (and a prettty cool thrill ride).

Lake Winnie definately. Anyone who has not been to this hidden gem needs to make plans this summer.
My pics (park,number of coasters)

Holiday World (3)
Knoebel's (3)
Kennywood (5-6)
Islands of Adventure (4)
Sea World Orlando (1)
Any US Disney Park (except AK...i could do that in less than a day)
Indiana Beach (5)
Michigans Adventure (6) (although you dont need all day unless you use the excellent water park)
Silver Dollar City (4)

------------------
SFGAm Viper

Busch Gardens. They only got 4 coasters, but Alpengeist and Apollo alone are worth the trip. The park is pretty big, so there is plenty to see, and the coasters are pretty nice.

2003 season kicks off 3/22 w00t!! PKD here I come!
CoasterCount: 42

I would highly recommend Bushkill Park if you're at all interested in amusement park history. The park is tiny and doesn't have any roller coasters but it has a great collection of antique rides. Visiting is like taking a time machine back 50 years. Not big enough for a whole day visit but it makes a nice side trip from some of the eastern PA parks.
When I went to BGW I spent 2 days in a row there are didn't get bored so it is totally a park you could spend a day in. IOA is another compared to most parks it doesn't have a lot of rides but it is really easy to spend a day there.
I would have to say Kennywood is a good choice. Personaly it's my second favorite park after CP. Michigans Adventure is nice too, I meen how can you turn down Shivering Timmbers?

In agreement with Ron Anderson, you have to include Silverwood and Playland (PNE) in this conversation. Coaster, Tremors, Timber Terror, and a (very evil) mouse? Are you kidding? This is the stuff dreams are made of.... Geez, people... ;)

Debeers - ...she'll almost have to...
Any Disney park, Dollywood (totally agree Vater!), and Holiday World. Our band went on a trip to all the Disney World parks a couple weeks ago and when I asked them what their favorite park was, almost all of them said Epcot. I was fairly surprised as most of the other people I've talked to (enthusiasts, family, etc.) have liked either MK or Disney Studios better.

BGW and IOA have 5 coasters each for those who said they had 4.

I would have to say have to say Michigan's Adventure, IOA, MGM Studios, and Boomers in Fort Lauderdale. I stayed for atleast 6 hours at Boomers and couldn't get enough of the Dania Beach Hurricane. For a place with only one coaster you can really spend a lot of time there.

Favorite Wood: Viper at SFGAM,Shivering Timbers
Favorite Steel: Magnum and Raging Bull

I think Dorney is a great example, it has an awesome, intense B&M invert, a great hyper, a pretty good classic coaster (Thunderhawk) and if you can handle a little roughness, Hercules can be a good ride. They also have a nice selection of flats, with some nice tree scenery and games. The park is literally empty in the morning, so you can get it all done, and then head over to WWK for the afternoon, and then at night do some re-rides.
