Park Ratings, a little harsh?

I have never had a problem with park ratings before until I created my own scenario. After about 3 years, the park rating dropped to about 125 in less than a month. It took me 10 minutes to figure out the problem, a broken trash can. After I fixed that up the rating rocketed up to 999.

Does anybody else think the park ratings are somewhat harsh on the little things?

While the park ratings do have a tendency to fluctuate rapidly, usually it's not that difficult to determine why. The best way to find the problem is the guest tool. Set it up so you can see the groupings of who's thinking what. In your case, there was probably an abundance of people thinking "the vandalism here is really bad." Of course some problems are easier to solve than others.
I had that problem when I tried the Great Adventure Scenerio. My rating would drop then I'd get the message. I finally couldn't figure out what the problem was and the park closed. If is was due to the vandals, I wish they would have made the handy men more handy and fix the broken benches and cans. Even if it was a researchable thing.
Well, I did check the guest display, and not one person said anything about the vandalism. Oh well, I just don't think one broken trash can should result in a 800 point drop in the ole park ratin'.

Same thing happened to me in the Volcano scenario. I built a custom B&M, and after I was done, I glanced at the park rating, which was 0! I didn't really see too much of a problem, a little barf here, a little there, but I was stumped. At least I saved right before I started constructing the B&M. :)

TOGO!

My park ratings drop sometimes because i dont have anought bathrooms, even thought there is a bathroom on every corner.

I've noticed that even though the peeps are smart enough to deal with wide paths, if they are too wide for too long, (like a big 8 x 8 block), they will still get lost and just walk in circles.

They say that guests have better "artificial inteligence" in RCT2 but they are still as thick as (insert word of choice!). I find a 2 block path can send them into a spiralling circle which makes them very unhappy! I try to use thin paths as much as possible still because of this!

Another thing I don't like that much is the way the guests think a 6/7+ minute queue is too long and complain "I've been queuing for --- for ages!" Then they come of any of my rides moaning about being hungry or thirsty and walk straight past a food stall! There sooo dumb! I think i'd be very happy if all the rides were about a 7 minute queue and a burger and chips were about $3!

Apart from that i'm certainly addicted!

I have been having problems with the park rating as well. I designed a scenario and when I try playing it I always lose because I can't get the park rating up. I am not sure if is is something I have set wrong or if the game is just that unforgiving.
My guests all seem ok with the wide path, though they always stay to one side then complain about it being too crowded. My maintenance guys just can't seem to grasp the concept of wide paths. They can never figure out how to get to rides and they just walk back in forth on a path near the ride but won't go to it. Makes you really wonder how well they are fixing the rides.
