Park in Illinois (possible movie footage)

Help me out here. I vividly remember seeing a movie when I was a kid of an amusement park that was left in ruins. I also remember my mother telling me that this movie was filmed at Adventureland in Addison Illinois. Since the park was closing down they filmed scenes at this park with a coaster that I believe caught on fire or something of a destructive nature.

For those that dont know, a park did reside in Addison named Adventureland. Is there any truth to a movie being filmed at this park just before it was demolished?

If a movie did happen at this park, what is the name of the movie?

Thanks in advance for any info on this.

Check to see if it's in www.moviecoaster.com/clgm.html . It could be there.

Chitown, I heard the same thing from my dad and he told me the name and everything but I forgot it now. It is true that the movie used the amusement park for destructive scenes after the park was closed down permanently.

Are you sure it's not "The Death of Ocean View Park"? The movie was filmed at Ocean View Park in Norkfolk, VA. There was an article in an old Coaster World magazine. I saw the movie I think twice, and I also have seen "Rollercoaster"(several times) and "Thrill".

No I am 100% sure it wasn't "The Death of Ocean View Park."
