PARENTS-What is the first coaster you took your ki

Last year I took my 5-year old on the Jackrabbit at Kennywood in the first car.He loved it,what a good start.
My daughters first adult coaster was this past summer at SFGAm on the Demon. She had a blast. She is also 5 years old.
My daughter is 6, and the very first coaster I took her on was the Red Devil. (Maybe not the best one to start with.) She liked it "ok", but did not want to ride again.

She prefers to stick to the Wild Mouse coasters, and is debating Big Bad Wolf and Rebel Yell for this summer. (Says she is too big for the Scooby Doo Ghoster Coaster....they grow up so fast.) :) *** This post was edited by Lorrie on 3/5/2001. ***
The first coaster my parents took me on was the Comet coaster at Scranton, PA's Nay Aug Park (park is still there but the ride section is defunct as is the coaster). It was a weird little ride somewhere between a kiddy coaster and a junior/family coaster. It had wooden track supported by what appeared to be construction scaffolding. My grandmother even used to ride it with me!
I took my son (perhaps 7 at the time) on the Revolution at Magic Mountain when he just barely reached the height limit. From the first drop, he was terrified and wouldn't go on any roller coasters for 4 or 5 years. Now he will ride almost anything, but because he's a teenager, he doesn't want to be seen anywhere with his parents, at least if there's a chance that his friends might see him.
My first coaster was the little dipper at Memphis Kiddie Park. My firsy big kid coaster was big dipper at Geauga Lake.
The first coaster I took my son(he's now 16)on was SFGAm's Whizzer. It's a great coaster for virgins - just the right mix of speed and height.
He was hooked after that and had to spend a couple of years wearing shoes with big heels and stretching to reach whatever height was required.

The first rollercoaster that I took my son on was Steel Force at Dorney Park!!! He was 6yrs. old at the time!!! I'm happy to say that he is now a rollercoaster addict just like his dad!!!! :) :)
My son's first real coaster was the Racer last season at Kennywood. I thought it had a "simpler" layout than it does. He was a little scared at first but he losened up quickly. He loved it and still talks about it.

2001 "wish to visit" list...
Great Escape, SFNE, Lake Compounce,
Jazzland, Visionland, SFOG
I think my first coaster was Rolling Thunder at Six Flags Great America...I'm not quite sure, I thought it was Hoosier Hurricane. But I do know that my first looping coaster was Shockwave at Six Flags Great America.

CoastaBaby (age 8)
First coaster:
SFGAM Whizzer @ 2 years, 7 months (she insisted)

First 'adult' coaster:
VF's High Roller @ 5 years, 6 months. She was barely 46" tall in bare feet, but was allowed to board thanks to kindly (new) rideops on opening day. 20 minutes later, a WT-riding marathon would begin.

Two weeks later, the managers lowered the boom--she would not ride again that season.

CoastaMidget (age 4)

1st kiddie coaster:

VF's Mild Thing @ 1 year, 5 months.....she followed big sister on board. The rideop told me there was no minumum height restriction, so I let her go. CBaby kept an arm around her sister for safety, though (cute!)

1st family coaster:

CP's Woodstock Express @ 2 years, 5 months.
Actually, I didn't take her--Playette did.

Her first 'adult' coaster:

If you insist on calling it an adult coaster--VF's Mad Mouse, 5/12/01. Otherwise, it
will more likely be PKI's Racer once we visit PKI. She was 42" in bare feet this January, so given a little more time to grow...

Actually it wasn't a coaster, it was the log flume at Astroworld. I worked them up from there and by the end of the day at 9 and 11 my girls would ride anything that they could make the height limit for.
My first coaster was Raging Bull at SFGAm (at age 17!).
