Paramount's Kings Island announces Boomerang Bay

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

Paramount's Kings Island today announced Boomerang Bay, the waterpark replacement for Water Works, which is being removed. The new park will include Jackaroo Landing, a water play area, a 54-foot high four-way racing slide, Tasmanian Typhoon, a dark tube ride ending in a giant funnel and Kookaburra Bay, a giant pool with waterfalls.

The new facility will also include lounge chair-side waiter service, cabanas, a full bar, family changing rooms and shade-covered areas. The 50 water activities include 30 slides and will be included with admission to the park.

"Anyway, I think that it's really cool that it's included with admission. Six Flags take notice!"

I can think of 3 SF parks off the top of my head that include their waterparks in the general park admission. SFWoA, SFKK, and SFSTl.

They obviously took notice awhile ago. :)

Arena football has arrived in the Windy City. Go "Chicago Rush"

You can add SFA to that list of inluded in admission waterparks.

whats the big deal? its a re-vamped water park that doesnt look any thing different than what was was there before. come on,, do something way more exciting . what they need is a hotel,or maybe two, that are themed out the *** and a better shuttle sevice than the one they have. PKI is a greatpark, but when you drive 500 to 1000 miles you want a really nice resort atmosphere to enjoy your stay. not a stale smelling old re- vamped Best western badged Kings island resort...

Doesn't look any different? I think they used "lush" three times in the press release. That's a far cry from "concrete jungle," which I think most would agree described the old park.

What time does the water show start?

Okay, let me revise that...Magic Mountain should take notice. Then again, it's hard enought to get on all the coasters in a day let alone a waterpark. Then again again, SFWoA seems like a pretty huge place too.

I'm really confused here. Are ALL of the old slides being sent away or are some still going to be used? I really hope that they keep some of them, because frankly those pictures don't show too many slides IMHO.

Who cares what the pictures show... they said 30 slides. That's a lot to do.

well i really don't know why you people are like its just a waterpark i mean look at it.it looks great to me.IF YOU would read at the top it says 50 water activities and 30 waterslides now thats a lotta slides to me.this looks like its going to be great though and i can wait!it looks like its going to be one of the best waterparks out there also.
chitown: add SFNE to your list. and don't forget, they had the 2nd "Tornado" slide (HW's being the 1st). even though i didn't get to ride it this summer, it looked amazing from the theme park. This should be another great addition to PKI, and another reason I want to visit.
