Paramount's Kings Island and Paramout's Carowinds both announced Winterfest events for the coming winter. Both parks will have a variety of activities.

Sounds nice...

Couldn't they add some lighting to Flight of Fear and retheme it to ELF:The Ride. Throw a couple of heaters in there to warm up the track.

But then again... The trains will probably be in off season rehab.

Just an FYI for everyone - The offical PKI WinterFest site is:
http://www.pki.com/winterfest/index.cfm

It's 100% MacroMedia Flash, so it might load a little slow for those on dial-up.

coasterguts. I was thinking the same thing about not only FOF but also Action Theater and TR:TR at PKI. They may be waiting to see how popular Winterfest is before expanding to the entire park. When Fearfest first opened, at least at night, only part of the park was open. Then, because of how popular it was, they expanded it. Action Theater could get a new simulator movie fairly easily. With Carowinds also having one you could get double duty. Coming up with something to do with TR:TR was a little harder but what I think would work would be Heat Miser Vs. Snow Miser from the Rankin/Bass Classic "A year without a Santa Clause." Paramount may not have the rights to that though.

Winterfest I think will be well attended this first year and if played properly could expand in popularity like Fearfest. If they are able to open up a few more of their rides in the future, they could really broaden the appeal of this event.

Will the fountain at PKI be frozen for ice skating, or will a plastic layer be installed so that problems don't arise with the new fountain and the freezing water?
