Weird, it has a bicycle-wheel design. I never knew that.
I guess they used that type of ring because the ride will not operate in a rotational mode :( but it still looks great & I can't wait to "drop in" on this thing.

The paintjob leaves a bit to be desired however because the orange/yellow color scheme just doesn't look good to me,I see that the gray & green section shown on screamscape is only at the base of the tower.

how high is this thing? my fav drop is the backside drop of Giant Drop at dreamworld (oz)
305 ft tall

Pun is the death of wit.
The entire tower is 305', the drop is 272'

I suspect the "spoke" design weighs less and has less wind resistance.

Oh MY LORD... Wow. Oh boy. 272ft of pure freefall bliss. Dang I wish this was closer...

I rode this at PKI. Even after riding Beast and Son of Beast five times the drop tower was still a thrill. The Power Tower at Cedar Point felt childish by comparison.

Hmmm Looks like a Huss Giant Frisbee straped on an Intamin drop tower

It isn't so bad. . .
Once you're used to it

LOL,I just hope they put some sort of cover over those spokes to make it look a bit better.

After looking at the bottom pic it looks almost like the seats on Acrophobia, maybe they did a stand up model to make up for the lack of rotation.although chances are that it just looks like that.oh well I can dream can't I?

All they need now is a giant playing card to put in the spokes!

Can't wait to ride this thing at Coaster Con if it's open.

BATWING - you need to think before you post: if they put a cover on the spokes it would act like a big parachute. Even PKI's version has gaps for air flow.

Is it just me or is that the ugliest color scheme I've ever seen. I thought PKI's was bad, but this is just ugly. Just my 2 cents worth.
Ever stood in line for Dropzone at PKI? When it drops, a huge rush of air almost knocks you down. I am guessing the spoke design is to prevent that.
My local drop tower only allowes for 4 people across on 3 seprate cars. I'm laughing in my head at the thought of all these people screaming together. It would be soooo fun to share the drop experience with so many people.

I think these drop rides offer the ultimate thrill compared to most coasters. I always leave the ride legless and my heart thumping hard!

Anyone want to volunteer to be a test dummy?
Anybody else think it looks a little flimsy? Hopefully it doesn't have to undergo structural changes like other Intamin rides lately...

I like the fact that it holds a whole mess of people.
