Paramount's Great America Question

I am 13 yrs. old and I remember going to PGA like 5 or 6 years ago, and going on a ride called The Edge. What exactly was it? I remember a free-fall. Does anyone remember anything else about it....
The Edge was a first generation Intamin Freefall attraction. Basically, you are lifted up in a cage and drop down 10 stories. The Edge is the same at Freefall at SFMM and Demon Drop at CP. Here is a link to CP's Demon Drop page on their website: http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/inside_park/rides/thrill/demondrop.cfm

The Edge now stands at SFWoA known as Mr Hydes Nasty Fall.

Didn't Mr Hydes Nasty Fall came from SFgam?

It was removed and replaced with Drop Zone. But Drop Zone is obviously not in the same place as The Edge but now Phsyco Mouse is in The Edge's place. I didnt go to PGA at all this last season so im not sure, but i know the saved The Edge entrance sign and used it for that little bungee attraction. I don't know if it's still there though.
You got the wrong Edge, the Edge at SFWOA is from SFGAM.

Not MLK's words but mine..I have a Dream! I have a DREAM! I HAVE A DREAM!
I have a dream! That SFMM fans will be able to walk hand in hand with CP's!
AND no ONE cares what a coaster is and what a coaster isn't!

I thought  mr hyde at sfwoa  was from a defunt park  rocky something or another from east coast
"The Edge" was orginaly located at SFGAm. The ride was sold to Rocky Point Amusement park in 1988 after an accident which seriously injuried 3 teenagers. When Rocky Point amusement park closed, the ride was relocated to SFWOA as "Mr. Hyde's Nasty Fall."

Yes, I work at Paramount's Kings Island!                            Flight of Fear Crew 01' & 02'

I thought the Drop at SFGAm was taken out after the breaks failed and injured two people! Went right through the brakes! Anyone else rememeber this!
Thanks for the information, I also remember landing really hard on my back after the free-fall so that defiantly makes it a first generation free-fall
All right, lets get SFGAm's Edge information straight. It stood where the Power Dive (looping starship) now stands.  In 1984 (I think) there was an accident which cuased the car to roll down the lift and crushed itself, trapping a couple teenagers in it. NO ONE DIED (this is a very common rumor, everyone lived.) The ride was then sold to Rocky Point, as PKI Rulz said. When the park went under, Geauga Lake bought it, and the GL was bought by Six Flags, and The Edge once again was in the SF family.

The Giant Drop at SFGAm never killed or (seriously)injured or scalped a person. It never went through the brakes. If it did this, everyone would die (how could anyone survive a 200 foot freefall with an instanttanious stop?) Drop Zone at a Paramount park, however, did have a kid fall out of it once, and he died. I think it was PGA, but don't quote me on it.

TrBiggar-Yes, someone died on PGA's Drop Zone.

I remember that, he had down syndrome or something, it was a few years ago because the Drop Zone at Pc closed for half the season beacause they thought maybe it had something to do with the restraints.

If I recall correctly, the kid that died on the ride was handicapped (not sure if it was physically or mentally or both).  PGA when I went in Fall '00 had a second-gen Intamin freefall...WAY better than first-gen, IMO!

Where the Edge was at PGA now stands Thunder Alley Race Way....Psycho Mouse stands where the old train station was.
