Paramount's Carowinds releases 3 new attractions for 01'

Carowinds' Web site has said for a while 3 new exciting attractions coming in 2001. Today I received my season pass newsletter and it revealed the new attractions. No new coaster, but it will be a good and logical expansion. Here is exactly what it said:

Scooby Doo's Haunted Mansion: Paramount's Carowinds first dark ride! Join Scooby Doo and the gang of Mystery, Inc. at Scooby-Doo's Haunted Mansion, an interactive ride that's totally in the dark! You'll chase ghosts, collect Scooby snacks and unravel a bewitching case of ghostly deeds and hair-raising suspense!

Pipeline Peak: Bigger, Better, Wetter in 2001! A new water adventure awaits you in WaterWorks. The tallest spiraling body ride on the East Coast debuts next year at Paramount's Carowinds. Featuring four slides, Pipeline Peak soars 80 ft. tall and will deliver the fastest, wettest fun you've ever experienced!

The 7th Portal: Log on and hang on! From the legendary co-creator of Spider-Man, X-Men, and the Incredible Hulk comes an all-new 3-D superhero ride simulator adventure!

The park is pretty good in the coasters department, so these rides are great for next year... Im hoping they bring new dark rides throughout the other Paramount Parks.

Canada's Wonderland got the Scooby Doo ride this season. Unfortunately I haven't been able to check it out because they require adults to be accompanied by a child! Dumb policy.
i went to wonderland a few weeks ago and i was to tall for the haunted house
who knows whats comming in 2001 to Canadas Wonderland all i heard was a big B&M
A big B&M at a Paramount park!!!??? I'll believe it when I see it.

Carowinds has an inverted and PGA has an inverted and a stand-up. Granted they're not huge, but they're big enough.

Top Gun at Carowinds is big.
So I guess PKD won't have the tallest water slide anymore...

Millennium Force
Top Gun at Carowinds is big and it rules. Blows the other inverteds out of the water with its g forces and inversions one after another.

I can't personally testify as to how good or bad Top Gun and the Vortex are, but none of the B&M's at Paramount Parks excedes 3000 feet in length or goes higher than 115 feet. Relatively speaking, "big" B&M's aren't very prevalent at Paramount Parks. Let me point out really quickly that there are no B&M's at PKD, PKI, or Wonderland. My point was that Paramount doesn't seem interested in negotiating big coaster deals with B&M for whatever reason. It seems that Paramount is mostly interested in introducing new types of rides with newer technologies--but may underperform 3 or more years after they're introduced and when other types of the same coaster get brought in with more jacked up specs--than more established types of rides like B&M's steel loopers, inverteds, and stand-ups--that may be longer and have more impressive specs. That's why I say I'll believe it when I see it when a significantly large B&M coaster makes it to a Paramount park.
I live 30 minutes away from Carowinds and i have season passes. Carowinds really needs help. It is a great park but, they are in really bad need of some great thrilling and exciting rollercoasters. The ones they have are great, but they are not big enough. Compared to the other Paramount Parks Carowinds is not that great in the rollercoaster department or thrill ride department
Alpenlochwolf that isn't really a fair statement since Top Gun is under 100 feet shy of 3,000 feet, and 2 feet shy of being 115 feet tall. Also, Top Gun in my opinion rips Alpengeist and Raptor to shreds (and yes I have been on all 3).
