paint on deja vu at sfgam

It looks like the paint faded and when they re painted those spots the color didn't match. Sea Serpent at Moreys Pier is the same way.
Well, I don't give a crap about its paint job as long as it keeps giving the best ride in the park. Intense, smooth, and steep -- my kind of coaster.

Maybe the supports and track got banged up during transport to the park and they touched up the spots where the paint was missing.

Maybe it's just supposed to have a rugged paint job.
Maybe people started throwing rocks at it everytime it was broke down causing the paint to chip. ;)

Ric Flair was hitting on the female host, he told her - "Space Mountain may be the oldest ride in the park, but it has the longest line." WOOOOO!

The paint "splotches" are typical for a Vekoma product. Actually Face/Off and Rugrats at PKI, as well as Silver Streak at PCW have similar issues. Other manufacturers have this issue as well. Why, there are splotches all over MForce.

Someone alluded to it earlier, but I will re-itterate. Basically, the track and supports are painted and then shipped. Once put together, mars in the paint job from assembly, transport, or welding prompt touch up painting. The touch ups are done with a brush, or roller and typically not a paint sprayer (which the manufacturer uses.)

The result is, you have minor variations in color and newness of paint because paint "chalks" or get a powdery sheen on it over time. The sprayed manufacturer paint fades sooner because it has a "shelf life" working against it prior to the ride even opening. You have to recall that the paint originally sprayed on the tracks has a good 6-12 months of outdoor life to it prior to the final touch ups.. Thus chalking and fading has already begun.

Some products ship unpainted. Intamin drops specifically. And if you notice, there are no paint splotches.
