PA state senator gives up on Kennywood beer opposition

A state senator said on Wednesday that he is dropping his objection to Kennywood’s plan to sell beer. Amusement park officials met with Sen. Jim Ferlo, D-Highland Park, to alleviate his concerns about beer disrupting the family-friendly atmosphere, park spokesman Jeff Filicko said.

BTW, what's this crap about the park striking a deal with Ferlo? Are they admitting that individual legislators can override state agencies and make their own deals with private businesses?

More than likely, limiting sales to two designated areas was all that the park wanted to do anyway, and limiting the hours in which alcohol could be sold was a condition set by the LCB. This guy had nothing to do with it, but he gets to puff his chest out and show that he's protecting his constituents.
