PA state law: locking lapbars?

Is there a state law in PA requiring coasters to have restraints other than a grab bar?

A leather strap for a restraint. LOL I doubt PA has a law.

Does CCI know how to make a bad coaster?

Leap-The-Dips, and the Mad Mouse at Lakemont Park in Altoona don't have any restraints. I would guess that there is no law pertaining to that or else those coasters would not be permitted to operate.

Most states regulate that the rides must conform to manufacturer's specifications. That makes a whole lot more sense than trying to mandate restraints...after all, wouldn't it be pretty silly to try to install lap bars on a Rotor, for instance?

Thanks. That is what the operators of the CL Blue Streak said (law about restraints) and that was why the original PTC wasn't operating.

The Phoenix and Twister only have lapbars, I'm not exactly sure what you're asking though.

The Blue Streak's original PTC only has grab bars, not locking lapbars. That is the lack of restrain I am referring to.

The Rollo Coaster at Idlewild Park just has the bar, nothing else. Its actully surprising to me that they didnt add any in there, that ride is just as rough and tough as any other coaster ive been on.

Those rides are grandfathered in. There is nothing stopping the Blue Streak from operating their older trains.
