Over $10 billion spent in theme parks, more to come

Posted | Contributed by supermandl

The Associated Press says that theme park revenue reached $10 billion last year. Their story wraps up some of the new themed attractions opening for 2001.

Read the AP report on CNN.

... and more to come? :)

Personally, I think a B&M hyper will go to Carowinds for 2002; the decalooper will definitely go to Thorpe; the B&M flying, SW5, is slated to open at Alton Towers; SFDL - maybe some B&M; et cetera...

Keep 'em comin'!

The Jet Coaster ROARS!
Although 2001 is gonna be a great year and already is. I firmly believe 2002 will be a much better year.

Alton Towers will get SW5(B&M Flying Coaster) Thorpe Park will get a 10 inversion coaster. Odyssey up in Scotland will open as the longest and tallest suspended coaster in the world.
I also think Cedar Point will get something big in 2002 to tie with SFMM with the most coasters.
PKI have already confirmed they are getting something big in 2002.
Busch Gardens in Florida should hopefully get a Hyper Coaster similar to Apollo.
Warner Brothers will open a new park in Spain in 2002 With a B&M Inverted,A B&M Floorless Coaster and a Woodie

With NEARLY all of the above confirmed. This is just the tip of the Iceburg, I am pretty sure lots more parks will get more new coasters in 2002 especially Six Flags Parks and Paramount Parks(how about something new at CarolWinds,Is the rumour of a Hyper still true)
This year certinatly has been amazing, But all I am saying is, Watch out for a huge Year of Record Breaking Coasters in 2002;)
i think next year will be a big year for sfdl. i think they will most likely get a coaster and possibly a drop ride. i also see a new water attraction/waterpark expansion happening in the near future.
Let's hope in 2002 that SF St.L will get a new rideS without taking any out because that don't have enough. It that B&M rumor still true that they will get a Standup or Floorless?

The story isn't really about spending money to build new attractions, it's about people spending money in the parks.
