Ouimet plans to innovate at Cedar Fair

Although he spent 17 years as a trusted Disney lieutenant running its historic Disneyland theme park and popular cruise line, it is clear that in Sandusky, the 54-year-old Matt Ouimet knows he finally is captain of his own ship: Cedar Fair, the nation's third-largest amusement park chain with 11 parks, including the flagship Cedar Point, plus six water parks and five hotels.

Well, it was a free meal in the first place, but after we talked about it, honestly neither one of us had food that was particularly stand-out-ish. I remember going ten years ago and thinking it was exceptional. Now, not so much.

I've only been once---and it was about 8-10 years ago. The menu/decor/etc. struck me as what you'd get if you took an old-school steakhouse mentality, and did a seafood restaurant. A place I could take, say, my parents for a meal they would enjoy. Lots of butter. Traditional preparations. Perfectly fine, but not what I was looking for.

See - they have been friendly family all along. We just have not been giving them credit for it.
