Ouimet makes debut to unit holders at Cedar Fair annual meeting

Cedar Fair Entertainment Co. shareholders annual meeting yesterday was the last one for retiring Chief Executive Officer Dick Kinzel. He turned over the reins to Matthew A. Ouimet, 53, who was named company president last month and will become CEO when Kinzel retires in January.

Read more from The Morning Journal.

"Ouimet, a longtime Disney executive, said he has studied Cedar Fair for years because of its operational excellence. He said he has found the company’s internal culture for operational excellence is the same as what he saw from the outside"

I wonder how he saw it from the outside?

Well, if by "operational" he means rides, he's got a good case for that.

I'm more curious what happens to the company after a year or two of Ouimet at the helm. There will be a period of petting and grandstanding for "politeness". I wish Gonch were going in there in his place, at least he'd kick someone in the nuts!

Lol you guys.

I hear a tune, echoing faintly in the air. I can't quite make out what it is, but I think it "Na-na-na-na Na-na-na-na Hey-hey-hey Goodbye"

Very nicely planned opening comment from the new guy. I'm looking forward to what he will bring to the table in the next few years.

And yes, LK, I know that at least I'm thinking that. ;)

Very nice opening comment that is also 100% on the mark. Everything that Mr. Ouimet has publically said indicates to me the he really gets it.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks, than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
