Other new items at VF for 2003.

I noticed a few new items at VF for this coming year, other than SV. The Red Garter Saloon will be changed to Stadium Pizza & Grill. The Rock climbing wall has been moved to Challenge Park and in its place is X-Treme Trampoline. I also noticed they added an on-ride photo booth for the Flume.
is that a trampoline where you get strapped into a harness with bungees and jump and do like flips and stuff?
Sweet!!! where were you that you were able to notise thes things?/

Hey DaNo, welcome to MN! Have you ever been to VF before your move here? Go to the website, Valleyfair.com and click on rides. You should see a downloadable version of their 2003 park map. I spend an abnormal amount of time at VF and I just looked over the new map and spotted the suttle changes and additions. I would imagine the trampoline attractions is the bungee version.
I noticed that while on the map it says Stadium Pizza & Grill, it still says Red Garter Saloon at the bottom in the food listing. It does seem a little strange to me that they would change it. Isn't the Red Garter Saloon a staple restaurant in CF parks?
I just noticed that too. I wonder if they split it in half or if the entertainment portion will be a sports theme and the Red Garter will still have food and beer? Another thought is maybe they forgot to remove Red Garter from the food listings. I was excited about SV but I can't wait to see the "new" sports bar! BEING SARCASTIC!

The new Stadium bar and grill is 100% different from last year although it still is going to have the beer it will obviously have pizza. The major change is that it will no longer have Live Entertainment involved. Also there will be one large screen TV and several smaller ones all tuned to sports channels. There is a lot more subtle changes to the park not announced like taffy in a small stand with fudge by the enterpriseand in fudges place will be glazed donuts. I have lots more but can not remember

the red garder on the food listing is in error... it should be the stadium pizza... oppsys ;)... yea the trampolines are the bungy ones...weeeeeeee ;)
Isn't a Top Spin also coming too to VF? I have heard that a Top Spin with spraying water was to replace the kiddie rides by the Corkscrew exit. Correct me if I'm wrong. My assumtion is that those kiddies rides will not be eliminated but moved to the spacious kiddieland area near Mild Thing (Hershell kiddle coaster). That is what I've heard from my friend. Also what will the pizza be like? Although the pizza by the Gazebo isn't bad (compable to Sbarro's) I am still hoping for the higher grade gourmet Chicago style or New York style like Uno's, Edwardo's or Geodano's quality. Something in the lines of Pizza Hut's Chicago Dish Pizza would also make a good addition to VF's menu!

I also heard the park will be adding even more trim brakes to all coasters ;)

I hope you are joking Mamoosh!
The same pizza we have had since 2000( same as by gazebo).

2003 Seventh season in VF Foods!!!!

I'm sure it's still good. With VF's high food pricing a Chicago style pizza might be too costly to buy inside the park. Strangly though the slices don't seems to cost too much more than a Sbarro's pizza. Most pizzas from a pizza parlor tastes way better than frozen pizza so you really can't go wrong. But some are notically way better than others. I haven't found a parlor (or fast food) pizza I didn't at least like a bit. In other words I have yet to find one any say it tastes like crap because uaually pizza is pizza any way you slice it!
Living about 35 min from VF I have loved it all my life, I just got my season pass and I am very excited for SV (however I still wish it were a Double impulse). I did hear the rumor that a topspin will replace the little kid area, but It just wont happen because if youve ever been there you can see that there are only like 3-4 little kid rides and that is not enough space for a topspin and queue lines and stuff like that, I wish there was going to be one though :)
There's already a vacant concrete pad for a spin-and-spue in the park...you know, where CP's Bayern Kurve once stood. Sniffle. Don't get me started.

While the 'new' sports bar makes good use of the existing projection TV and will be a profitable change, I can't help but miss the Dueling Piano guys. As for dem cowpie-kickin' hoedowns--blah blah blah where the good Lord split ya. I suppose the restaurant might even see capacity crowds.

I guess the off-season change I'd find most intruiging--other than SV--is whether they'll change the top-secret Chicken That Sucks (TM) recipe. After at least 12 years of All-that-Smell-and-just-no-taste, can we work our way up to two herbs and spices? Stay tuned...

PFF - I heard that a TopSpin may be in store for 2004, but not this year.

Could be possible about the Top Spin for 2004 instead. If the live entertainment is gone in the sports bar (former Red Garter) at least we can watch the MN ViQueens lose every game on the big screen :-)!
Uhhhhh....you already could if you were in the park on a football Sunday. Note my use of the word existing projection TV.

That's what I was refering to! Yes I have watched the ViQueens lose on it and know about the existing projection TV :-)! It would be nice if they switch to a 16:9 widescreen but I wouldn't really expect them to.
