Today, I was browsing Screamscape and noticed that, within the next couple years, WDW will be expanding Fantasyland (in Magic Kingdom). Included in this expansion is a roller coaster called the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

I wasn't very interested at first, but then I ran across a description of the ride. "The coaster will feature a first-of-its kind ride system with a train of ride vehicles that swing back and forth, responding to every twist and turn of the track."

When I read this, the first thing that popped into my mind was Orphan Rocker. Could this concept-in-the-making-for-23-years finally be coming to life at Disney World in 2012/2013? If so, sounds pretty cool to me.

Here is some concept art for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw that news. Its a bummer it will be lacking the 700 foot cliff and dense rain forest setting that Orphan Rocker had going for it but it sounds like an exciting idea all the same.
