While Disney still dominates tourism in the Orlando area, their overall market share is down, while Universal and other venues are drawing more from tourists.

Gotcha. Yeah, it was the E-Ticket I'm remembering.
So each of the areas at Disney has it's own entrance fee. The question then becomes is it worth spending $50 for rides and great themeing in one area of Disney, or to spend the $1.95 more to go to either IOA or USF.
The problem is in order to ride the main attractions (Space Mountain, Tower of Terror, Rock n Rollercoaster) requires entrance into two different parks. There isn't enough in any one park to keep everyone happy. That's what I mean by "expensive"

I see what you mean CPLady, but I dont think that Universal has addressed that either. With the addition of the Mummy themed coaster @ USF, you are going to be faced with the same dilemma. In one park (IOA) you will have Hulk, DD, and Spidey and in the other you'll have Mummy, MIB:AA and BTTF. Now you could argue that USF/IOA has better package deals (2 & 3 day tickets), but even that is a greater outlay of money. And with the Disney packages, you get FOUR parks at your disposal rather than two which translates into more attractions to experience.
Really, though, it all comes down to personal tastes. If IOA/USF "does it" for you in a way that Disney does not, then go for it. As Jeff said, "we win" at the end of the day.
