Orlando Today! 7-28 MK

Associated parks:
None

The first in my many (hopefully) live TRs Live nightly from Orlando. This is going to be short. 13 hrs in a Disney park is fun, but so tiring!

My basic thoughts so far:

1. please no man speedo brand teeny-tiny suits. After a day at Typhoon Lagoon yesterday, I had more than my fair share of men's figures, not to mention those poor kids who's parents force them into it.

2. Where are the superior cast members everyone is talking about? My experience, so far, is that most cast members are average/slightly above average. There were a few standouts, but I had one employee completely ignore me. What the heck is this? More to come on these thoughts as the week progresses.

3. The childhood illusion of disney perfection? GONE. I'll agree with an anonymous freind that sincerely hates their illusion of perfection. Well, it started bugging me a little today too. Hearing the talk of "perfection" at disney is nonsense. While everything is in much better shape than almost everything I've ever seen, it's far from the advertised perfection.

4. It's hot in Orlando.

5. The mecca that is disney world resort is confusing. Next time you're here, pay attention and watch what the heck is going on. This really scares me. Just the crowds drawn and the way people act is so overwhelming. I can't explain it, just watch, I guess.

Favorite Ride: probably Splash Mountain. Theming is great, nice ride, awesome down-up combo drop inside where we found our "laughing place". I like my laughing place.

Funniest Moment: simply staying calm and watching everyone in "Alien Encounter" get their neck breathed down, their heads rubbed, and spit on by a true alien!

Bad Times Guide: Rushing aross the park-literally-to get on space mountain agan: CLOSED

Best Ideas: Equally: Disney DDR. Who wouldda thunk? plus, splash mountain during parades. Walk on. You don't see that at disney. It's unnatural.

Tommorow: The Experimental Prototype Communtity Of Tommorow: EPCOT.

Ah yes! The tourorists! Probibly a bunch of French people in Speedos, it's their style that is just the way it is! Now elaborate why you don't like the "perfection" ANd the CM's, just remember how fast the rides dispatch and how fast you moved while in line. Their awesome!

You ride Big Thunder?

What I was trying to say w/ the perfection is that I believe it's a complete illusion that so many are drawn to falsely. I think Disney parks are almost perfect, better than any I've been to so far, but that's the way I feel.

Well, they definately keep the lines moving, but their not what is claimed by some. Yes, I rode Big Thunder. I was slightly dissapointed by the lack of themed scenes, but that's no biggie. What bothered me is sending half empty trains during a parade with everyone in the back half becuase thats policy. Not a big deal, but definately an annoyance.
