Original Rides From When Your Park Opened.

Lake Winnie is Mine.

I'm pretty sure it's just the Boat Chute. They evolved from a picnic area, and that was their first and only ride for a while.

Kennywood has removed 12 coasters in the last 106 years of operation. I counted Steel Phantom as one.

I also remember the Ferris Wheel going for Aero 360 to come in.

That's what I can think of off the top of my head.

Here is the link for past coasters:

Colin, Bob

You're mostly correct re SFGAM, but Sky Trek Tower and Big Top/Riccochet were added in 1977. Here's a great resource:

Laugh your troubles away at Riverview, the world's largest amusement park.
I don't think it's reasonable to try going all the way back to the sliding board - rowboat - dance hall phase some of the older parks went through. That proves nothing. Mechanized rides had to be invented. So let's start with first rides installed and still running.

l. Obviously, The Old Mill (Garfield's Nightmare) is Kennywood's classic.

2. But the Turtle, Carousel, Auto Ride, Shooting Gallery, several kiddie rides, and The Arcade have hung on all these years.

3. Kings Island just threw away one of its heritage rides when it sent the Flying Scooters (Eagles) to Carowinds. It still has a few others left over from the old Coney Island, its parent park. The PKI train is still in great shape. Ironically, it was built down along the river right below Kennywood (and up around the bend).

Not many at PKI, Let's see.... The Scrambler is from Coney, The Carousel, The Monster was there, but the current ride is a replacement, The Racer, Beastie, Log Flume (altered). KIMVRR, and could that be all? I can't think of any more off hand.
Worlds of Fun - opened in 1973

Original Rides Still in Operation

  • Viking Voyager - (flume)
  • Finnish Fling - (rotor)
  • Scandia Scrambler - (moved and renamed Scrambler)
  • Le Taxi Tour - (antique cars)
  • Flying Dutchman - (swing ride)
  • Der Fender Bender -(bumper cars renamed Autobahn)
  • Worlds of Fun Railroad - (train ride)
  • Krazy Kars - (kiddie bumper cars)
  • Oriental Octopus - (moved and renamed Octopus)
  • Red Baron - (kiddie airplane ride)

Original Rides Removed

  • Schussboomer - (galaxy-style coaster)
  • Sky Heis/Sky Hi - (sky ride)
  • The Safari - ("antique cars" jeep ride)
  • Zambezi Zinger - (custom jumbo jet)
  • Funicular - (kiddie coaster later moved and renamed Silly Serpent)
  • 9th Street Incline - (fun house)
All i can say is that geauga lake has nothing from the original useage. They do have the carousel and the big dipper, both from sometime around the early 1910s, for the carousel, 19

Resident Arrow Dynamics Whore

I don't have a home park :(.
Want to adopt one of mine then? I have 5. ;)

Dental Plan! Lisa Needs Braces.

The only original ride at SFOT is the train (although it used to circle the park in the other direction).
Thanks, Swoosy, but hopefully I'll have 3 soon, 4 after they build the Hard Rock Park :).
