The Conneaut Lake Park Preservation Society planned the second annual marathon to raise money to paint and maintain the 65-year-old Blue Streak. Ten to 12 people planned to ride it continuously, and another five to 10 expected to ride it with breaks. The coaster's original 1937 cars have been renovated and pressed back into service for the first time since 1966.

Those trains look great. It's great to see coaster trains getting some respect. A lot of old coasters are still around but how many of them still run the original trains?
Not that I have any qualms about Century Flyers :)

Arrow Guy - I'm hoping the same thing, as there's no way that I can come up with any kind of scheme to get to CLP this summer.
It's really encouraging to here that this train is significantly smoother, too. :)

I'm another one who is hoping those cars will be running next year also. I made it to the park in 2000 and this year, but with those trains on I'm going to definately go again next year. Don't forget to make your CLP stay complete by staying overnight at hotel Conneaut.
After spending a day at Conneaut post-SRM I knew I wanted to return someday soon...with Blue Streak running a train that gorgeous it can't be soon enough.
Kudos CLP!

WOW! Half hour?! Amazing. Hopefully there won't be many lines tomorrow! I am so excited to be riding this train. If you know me at all, I'm always saying something about riding the old train... and now I can!
I'm sooo excited!
Can you tell? :)
