Opinions wanted: SFKK's Twisted Twins

I definately enjoy Thunder Run as much, if not more than I did Viper or Georgia Cyclone.
The Twins seems more like a kiddie ride *to me*.

Robbie sez:

I have yet to ride Sky Princess, which I haven't admittedly heard too much negative about, although it sounds like a family ride, ala Timberhawk? I think Mooshie claims it to be in his top 20?

I don't have my 2003 ballot for Mitch's poll handy but Sky Princess does rank very favorably with me. It's definitely above Shivering Timbers, that I know, so that means Princess is somewhere in my Top 30.

You think about ST like I think about ST... sort of... eh. Still, I haven't ever had a night ride, nor a "hot day" ride, so......... we'll have to see someday.

After hearing another positive report about Sky Princess, I must get there this coming year when I make my first visit to Hershey, and Kennywood. :)

ST is awesome, front seat, hot day. Oh yeah! Kennywood's good too. Great classic woodies.

....add me to the "believers" in the Princess....CCI never built a *bad* coaster that I've ridden....although there are a few that could be maintained better

DW was a pretty cool park....not much other than Sky Princess in terms of *exciting* rides, but still a fun day.... :)

Its been a while (perhaps too long) since I've been on Sky Princess, so can you guys tell me why you rate the ride so favorably? What makes it better than, say, ST?

Rob: you know the saying, "It's not the size of the wave but the motion of the ocean"?? That explains why smaller coasters like Sky Princess, Cornball, Raven, Phoenix, etc., all rank higher than Timbers for me. They all have more action with smaller lifts than I ever got with Timber's initial 125 feet.

mOOSH - still really likes Timbers, but likes 30 other woodies better [31 if you count Little Big Rob...LOL!]

I knew all of this talk of woodies would spur some kind of comment ;)

I don't question your theory there- I know for a fact that smaller coasters can pack a much better punch than their larger counterparts, but I don't ever recall the Sky Princess being a "thrill" coaster like Cornball, Raven or Phoenix. I remember the ride having a very "family-oriented" profile and am just trying to figure out how its gentle drops compared to ST's airtime camelback!

Please don't misinterpret... I'm not questioning your opinion, I'm just curious to find out what Sky Princess offers that I neglected to note when I rode it years ago. Your comments are making me want to plan a trip to Dutch Wonderland next year, something which I neglect to do because I'd rather the extra two hours at Hershey!
