opening day rollercoasters

Have you ever been on a opening day rollercoaster and been the first person/train to ride it. I have the Phantoms Revenge I was the first person the coaster went about 84 because it was the first time. They made me sign a paper saying i was the first puplic rider! How about you?
I was on the third "public train" on Twister @ Knoebels. The first two trains were auctioned off. I think the front seats on the firdt train went for around $600. The second train averaged around $50 a seat. I got my ride for $2. :)

I was the back seat of Batman at SFGAm for the first traian of it's tenth aniversary (2002). I'm one of only up to 32 people who rode the inverted coaster's 10th aniversary.

I went on Deja Vu at SFGAm on May 4 2002 (park opening day). It pretty much was the opening day for Deja Vu cause during Fright Fest 2001 it was not hardly open. I rode first trian, first row first ride all season. I really dont like Deja Vu but it was kinda a cool way to start a season.
I was about the 8th train out opening day on Talon and I tried to be the 1st on Nitro but the day before it operated all day to special guests so it was pretty much open a day befor the park so when I went opening day I actually didn't ride Nitro until the last ride of the day.

That is what the "edit" button is for.

2 superheroes in Gurnee next season? Oh the humanity. :)

The closest I have ever been to first person/train would be Raging Bull. When it first opened (98' was it?), I managed to get a ride on the second public train.

Great ride, it's just wearing off its magic now. The past 3 rides I have felt hardly any airtime, very surprising.

I have been on the first public runs on:

The Boomerang @ WOF and WildFire @ SDC.

I was on the second train when the Mamba first opened. It ran with no trims till the end for the first few weeks of operation. It was so awesome.

I along with a friend were the first ones in line for the Flying Coaster on opening day. And then somehow there was a couple employees already waiting. But I didn't care cause we still were the first public on the ride, we went out on the first car, it was pretty tight.

I was on about the 5th "public" train out on Xcelerator. We waited in line all day until they finally opened it to the public. We were right behind fellow buzzers...I think Mister X was there and a few others but I don't remember.

What would we all do if roller coasters became non-existent???

I was on the first public train of North America's first B&M Flyer, S:UF (4/6/02). It was an amazing experience, in addition to just the ride itself.

I was also able to ride SFOG's Deja Vu on opening day (9/1/01), but on one of the last runs of the night.

I rode Serial Thriller at Geauga Lake before any of the public got a chance at it because I was working pre-season.

No you weren't... you weren't even in the first 50; and as I remember, the first person running up the line when we opened was an (about) 9 year old girl trailed by her dad.

However, I was the 4th one on after the owner, GM, and construction foreman... but that's a different story.

Nothing more exciting than a coaster on it's opening day... I've hit a couple...

Dania Beach Hurricane opening night was exciting, got on the news, sorta. The only problem with that night was that the train was running so slow, and it gave me a negative first impression.

Superman Ultimate Flight opening day, just missed media day on that one. Now that was one hell of a ride.

Wicked Twister opening day, that was great as well... Nothing but enthusiasts in the park that day!

And, not that it totally counts, but I believe I was on the second ever car to run for the public on Test Track at Epcot... It was before opening day, and even before Media day. They were techinically still "testing", and basically quietly invited anyone who was loitering around to come for a spin. I'd call that a "soft opening"... It didn't actually offically open for a couple of months.

I'd Rather Be Riding Roller Coasters

some how i think your wrong cause i was getting off the pitfall when the worker told us to go to the PR and it wasn't opened yet. Then the worker opened the gates and we ran in it was a really crappy day. It rained all day long and the ride's chain lift broke opening day. The mechanic had to walk up the catwalk and fix it.

I was the first rider on Medusa's (East) second day of operation :) I avoid opening days because of delays, crowds, and stuff.

Well, you can believe whatever you like, and I'm not about to start a futile argument. I built it, I test-ran it, I rode it, and I was there way before it opened to the public.

Mr. Freeze, St. Louis, opening day, first train to the GP after a bunch of radio people got to ride. Also Wicked Twister, one of the first trains on opening day--I was doing a project for broadcasting for school that day and got a lot of good footage, including a quick talk with Mr. Kenzel in Camp Snoopy with his family.
