Opening Day Question

Here's a question, with new coasters opening all the time. Who can get into a media opening day of a new coaster. As I live on the other side of the pond and I am going to Cal for a month and wondered, who should I speak to to get V.I.P.pass for the opening of X?

The biggest thing is that you need to have a purpose (you run CoasterBuzz, you're a club officer, a member of the press, etc.), because they don't let just anyone in.

Given your foreign status, that might be a selling point. Give their PR department a call. People with non-American accents make for good TV.

What about if you moderate CoasterBuzz, will that usually work?

What do you see my chances, I am a member of the European Roller Coaster Club (10Years)and do write reviews for the magazine, but have not done one for 3 years.

Give Justin a call... I'm certain he's fairly well connected, and I'm sure he'd love to get some reviews out of you.

I will most likely be at Indiana Beach opening day or Media Day covering for Danimation.com & Coaster Archive (I think Robert Burtz will be there too). I can't wait! Cornball all the way! ;)

I've actually found a way for anyone to get into press events. I'm a receiver of the daily e-mail "Bizarre News"*, and they've just brought out a new thing, called "Bizarre News uncensored".
It is $30 a year, and for that you get a new newsletter, a mug, and the best part, a press pass. Apparently, according to the editor, this is the real deal, which can get you in to any event which is normally only for media types. Don't know about you, but I think it's $30 well spent.
*Bizarre News is an internationally recognized publication, which reaches over 500,000 people, (bizarrenews.com)
Helps to be the Governor of Missouri:)
It seems that SFGADV took care of their opening day in a unique way.
Any one got Justin's personal email address so I can get in touch with him. The European Club takes to much time to get replies from.
