No major attraction debuted at Kennywood this season, but plenty of improvements have been made to the park. Some of the more major improvements include: two train operation on Phantom's Revenge, a refurbished Flying Carpet, and a new themed area called Pirate's Cove.
Check out the opening day photographs in our gallery and don't forget to stop by the forums and read one of the many opening day trip reports.

Any further word on the Phantom Revenge tunnel or concrete walls?
Also, what is the Pirate's Cove? What rides would that include?

I say keep the rafters. Adds a beter headchopper effect. If it was a tunnel, it'd just be 1 headchopper. With the rafters, it makes for multiple, therefor causing the entire train to duck, heh heh.

Well, I like how Kennywood's website still advertises Phantom's Revenge with a tunnel!! :(
How well themed is the Pirate area?

I said the same thing Intamin Fan, it wasn't what came to mind at first, but half way through the day I realized it. Still nice banners though.
Zar: Except for a few specific area's Kennywood's web site isn't updated to often. Aside from the area directly surrounding the Pirate, there isn't any theming, but that may change. Over on KB's boards there's talk of water geysers being added, although they will not be getting riders wet. Interesting stuff.
