Opening day at SFGAdv.

My school is taking their senior trip to SFGAdv. on the 5th of April. As you all know this is opening day at the park. I just had a few questions I need answered.

I heard Rolling Thunder is getting a lot of work done. Does anyone know if it will be open next week?

Will Viper be up and running on opening day?

What time does the park close? I went to the website and it didn't have the hours of operation. All it had was a yellow square on the 5th (no key).

I would really appreciate it if I could get these questions answered.

Thanks.

My understanding is Rolling Thunder will be running (and I hope well with the turnaround retracked :)), I don't know about Viper, but who really cares about Viper.

The park is open 10 am to 8 pm. On the schedual just hold the pointer over the date you want and it gives you the time.

I've only ridden Viper once and I don't really remember it. Nevertheless I still want to ride it on the 5th.

How are the lines on opening day? I would assume there will be a lot of people there but Superman wont be open yet. I'm sure this will affect the crowd.

Thank God the park's open untill 8! We were originally supposed to go to Washington DC and hit SFGAdv. on the way back. We were going to get there at 10 and leave at 6:00.

Because of the recent events with Iraq, our trip was changed and now we are going to Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. This means we wont arrive at SFGAdv. untill 1:30. Our time was extended to 7:00 but I thought the park might close at 6:00.

I was on edge for a little while!

I believe that rolling thunder and viper will be open for open because it a new season. I think the time will be around 10-8. Superman opens april 17.

The lines at GADV on Opening Day are non-existant. Nitro was a 5-10 minute wait. I got something like 30 rides on it. Everyting else was almost a walk-on. Viper will hopefully be open and I am not sure what is happening to Rolling Thunder. Superman opens the 17th. There is also coasters after dark the day Superman opens. I will be wearing my PPP shirt. I'll be looking for people.

How many people are going on this trip??? This is going to ruin my trip, I was hoping for the park to be empty.

"Ruin your trip"? You've got pretty high standards. Almost all Saturdays through out the operating season have some kind of trip. It doesn't impact lines nearly as much as the increase in random park goers on a Sat.

Besides, Nitro eats people and S:UF won't be open. Chiller will really be the only line affected.

lol SFGAdv. lover.

There will be about 45 people going to Six Flags. We'll get there between 1:00 and 1:30. The first thing we are going to do is go to the Chiller and work our way around the park from there.

Look for us! Most of the class will be with me because I know where I'm going! (lol).

Damn I wish I can go since they might have a little people in the park. I would love to ride Batman with the shoulder harnessess and ride skull mountain finally. If only april 17 can get here quicker. I need to ride a coaster cause I'm bored out of my mine in school.
SFgadvMAN: I'll be wearing a Leap the Dips shirt. I'll look for you. Andy, you want to meet up somewhere, I will be there at opening time?

Yeah. We should definitely meet up. I'm not quite sure when I'm going to be there yet, but it "should" be at opening. I'm thinking a couple laps on Chiller before the line builds up and then power rides on Nitro....I'll also probably be toting some rookies along, so we'll need to whore for credits (yes, even Viper :P).

Now c'mon, Nitro is a good coaster, AA...but eating people. It's not like Godzilla or anything...;).

On a (slightly) more serious note, some URC friends should be attending opening weekend, unsure of whether Sat or Sun...

Derrick, Batman has always had shoulder harnesses. Oh....you meant to say that you want to ride Batman of Batman & Robin the Chiller without shoulder harnesses.

Superman looks real good with the theming. Give us a Trip report when you go there and come back because this park looks like they improved a lot.
