Opening day 2004 at Cedar Point

I just checked the calender yesterday on www.cedarpoint.com, and apparently opening day is Saturday, May 8.

Is there any particular reason to why it's on a Saturday this year? Will Longaburger day be on Friday?

WOW Now This is a roller coaster of a different color!

I'll have to call up some of my higher up friends in the Basket company on that one.

This is strange. I'm wondering if two companies bought the park out. One on May 1, and the other on May 2? I know a few parks in the NE USA are opening on May 1, or sooner.

BUT on the VERY good note, they are at least not doing that stupid "only open on weekends for a while" thing. I hate it when other parks do that. I understand why they do it, but it make A LOT more visits in those first few weeks to parks that are open.

I also noticed that they will FINALLY be open on Halloween this year!! :)

Who cares? It could open up at 2am on Valentines Day and I would be there. :-)

Speaking of Ohio parks, PKI is opening on a Friday this year for once. April 9th. Good Friday!

So far as I've noticed, the Longaberger day this year will be in the fall, in September. It's simply changed, that's all, and now opening day is earlier, though the total won't change because that day will be lost later in the season.

Well, according to the schedule, they are open to the public every Saturday in September.

Man, just realized I will be spending Easter at PKI. Beats egg hunting I suppose.

I'll have to get out there later in the day instead of waiting at the gates...Oak Harbor Invitational is that morning/afternoon I believe.

Actually, they're open until 10/31 this year. I've never seen them open this late.

I was surprised, I Thought that Sunday, May 2 would be opening day, Saturday would be Longaburger day. I even had it marked on my calendar. I guess it pays to check their operating calendar before making plans.
