Good to see they got the ride open on schedule.

From the looks of the pics the lake has yet to be filled, and when it *is* filled look for it to be much smaller. According to sources Jack also wants "hydraulic strip mining" equip near the helix to be used as theming...the equip will shoot out a stream of water towards the train. Let's hope that happens.

Ramblin - Knotts announced a few months ago that the opening date was moved to Dec 7th.

Actually Moosh, I believe that there was water in the lake this morning (and yesterday for that matter). I saw it on the news footage this morning, and heard reports that they were filling the lake yesterday.

It seems as if the NBC photos shown here were taken a couple of days ago.

Silver Bullet doesn't open untill 9:00pm eastern that is 5:00pm pacific.

Nope. It actually opened past 12PM since the ride's opening ceremony was at 12.

D'oh...I meant the park opened at 10am; the ride opened around noon. My bad ;)

Those photos are not very good. Thanks for the link though, hopefully I will get to Cali one of these days to visit and get to some of the parks. The ride definately looks cool.

Moosh, the little pond under the helix was full today. You can also see the pipe that is going to squirt the water, at least that is what we thought it was for.

I'm about to do a TR for today so look for a review.

I'm looking foward to the Winter Coaster Solace this year so much, can't wait to ride Silver Bullet. But the real star of the winter coaster solace is always going to be Ghostrider in the dark. Even when it is 45 degrees out, it still runs like a bat out of hell at night. :)
