One way to get a better frame rate

Try turning the Shadows off...go into SET UP and click on the shadow quality until it says OFF.

You will obviosly lose a little bit of visual realism, but you may experience an improvement in your average frame rate of up to 30 percent!

I did this and now I get about18-36 frames per second on my HP Pavillion Lap-Top that I run NO LIMITS on! With shadows set to NORMAL my frame rate was only 6-24.

I was then able to increase the DETAIL level to "Very Good" and still maintain that frame rate.

what speed processor and how much ram do you have?

i have all my settings set to the highest w/shadows on and i get 70+fps

Woah! 70+ ???

Dude what are you running???

I'm 700MHz PIII  w/128meg of RAM.

Am I missing something I could do to improve my playback?

Advice would be much appreciated!

I have an AMD Athlon 1.4GHz with GeForce 3.

It runs pretty sweet.. averaging 50 fps even with antialiasing!

he most likely has a geforce 3 or some other VERY powerful graphics card, im guessing you have a 8mb to a 16mb card where he prolly has a 64mb card, thats whats going on there, processor speed has little to do with it if your on a fast computer, its your graphics card thats the center of it all.
