One question

I don't own No Limits (I plan on buying it soon), I play Hyper Rails; which game is easier to construct rides in?

Hyper Rails can be quite a challenge to make a 100% ride.

ok, i have never really seen hyperrails in action... (end disclaimer)

...but nolimits can actually construct rides that look a lot like their real-life counterparts and also offers more coaster types that all have been tweaked for realism.

a problem i continually have run into in nolimits is that i don't seem to be able to create smooth transitions in between the track control points.
as somebody's signature says: "nolimits is a perfectionist tweakers worst nightmare" - you can go back and forth between the editor and the simulator forever and always discover new rough spots you weren't able to spot in the editor.
it seems like the system hyperrails uses, in which the simulator and the editor are united in the same visual world, is more successful, and i have heard no complains about ride smoothness on hyperrails yet.
Designing the track beginning to end, putting in all the supports etc., can be a test for your endurance in NoLimits as well, and the payoff (ride your coaster) isn't really paying off enough for all this meticulous work.

Still, I think in terms of realistic looks, nolimits can still be pretty undefeated, and the new version has a track smoothing function that i haven't checked out yet.

a ghostly thing about both programs is that there are no peeps on the coasters (hyperrails seems at least to have operators) - it's a world devoid of humans.
(on the other hand, fulfills your dream of having a coaster all for yourself, if you ever dreamed that dream). *** Edited 6/18/2007 6:06:44 AM UTC by superman***

It was much easier to build and test rides in Hyperrails. Unfortunately, NoLimits already had critical mass and ravenous fanboys, so it died on the vine.

I have alot of problems in Hyper Rails in terms of rough points. Sometimes when I'm trying to design a certain part of the track piece by piece, when tested the train roughly jerks which really annoys me. I experience that no less than 3 times in every ride I made. It's not a bug or anything, but fooling with the track in Hyper Rails is like bending a paper clip and not being able to straighten it back out.

No Limits definitely looks more realistic in graphics, and sound. In Hyper Rails when the train is running its course, it just sounds like wind is blowing. I've seen videos of No Limits coasters and the train roars, which is what I like.

In Hyper Rails, you are only allowed to build 6 types of track: Arrow, B&M Hyper (2 seater, not 4 seater), B&M Inverted, B&M Stand-Up, Impulse, and 4D. I want to build wooden rides, but can't. That's another reason the game bugs me.

There actually aren't any ride operators in Hyper Rails. It's just the coaster and the enviroment.

I'd still like to check out No Limits, I'm sure I would have more fun doing alot more than just a building certain amount of tracks with some limitations.
