RideZone now has the third group of Talon construction photos. These were taken on December 21, 2000 and show the first drop and loop complete along with the rest of the ride.
Check the photos out on RideZone.
Does anyone else think Dorney Park's Talon is very similar to Hersheypark's Great Bear?
Besides the obvious fact that both are Inverteds built by Bolliger & Mabillard, the two coasters have five distinct similarities:
- vertical loop
- immelman
- spin
- corkscrew
- s turn
You would think, with both parks being in such a close proximity to each other, that Dorney would have gone out of the way to make their's unique.
Hell, I'm not complaining, I love B&M Inverteds!

I have to agree with consensus on the color scheme. very, very cool. They need to do something about that ugly logo though. that is going to ruin the whole look.
hopefully I will be able to hit this park this summer. anyone know how far dorney is from hershey?
They are about 55 miles apart. I live 10 min from dorney and 50 min. from hershey! I have my certificate for my dorney season pass already. woohoo! On 1/2 I passsed talon on the way to friends house and the zero-G roll was finished. The construction crew was lifting pieces of track leading into the immelman. I can not wait to ride this thing! So far I think I may like this coaster more than dueling dragons, Alpie, Batman, Great Bear, or Raptor! Everything about it is 10 times better than great bear! The wicked curves and twists are insane! Ive rambled long enough! Wow1 Talon is sweet!
