omg ddr on will & grace!!!11

I'm just kind of making fun of ddrfreak here, because anytime DDR shows up on TV, movies, etc., everyone goes crazy.

Although, when I think about it, it does kind of annoy me that video games are never portrayed accurately on TV or movies. Such as last night on Will and Grace... you could hear Abyss and Dynamite Rave playing in the background, but when Grace and Jack actually played, it was some Madonna song. Since it's a comedy, I won't complain about the dancing in the middle of the pads. ;)

Or another example, in Wayne's World, during the Noah's Arcade commercial, Sonic the Hedgehog (a game with very good graphics and sound at the time) is shown on screen, but crappy Atari 2600 sound effects are played.

Wonder why producers do this? Opinions? Hmmm.

It has to do with licensing of music.... basically they have to pay a licensing fee for whatever music they show on the air (or at least I think that is the reason....)
Yeah, but we heard the two actual DDR songs I mentioned, just not when they were playing (more like background noise). Also, I can't imagine the licensing fees for a Madonna song are less than for a DDR song.

Don't forget, Madonna is a guest star next week. That might have something to do with it.
