Old Trains Spotted At Waldameer....

Anyone thats been to Waldameer notice the old blue and red coaster trains (or cars) in the back where the Ravine Flyer 2 is planned (or the old matinence [sp?] area)?, they are far back right behind the Sea Dragon, and are on the other side of the turn around on the train. If you ride the train, you can get a very good look at the old cars and such. They look like very old Comet cars, with the same lapbars but a little different car design. Anyone confirm if these are from the Comet, or if you have seen them?

Same basic design, different lap bars...those cars have fixed bars. Well, some of them do, anyway...!

Perhaps they are from the original Ravine Flyer and they will either restore them for display, or restore them for use.

no the cars aren't from the original Ravine Flyer, i've seen the original trains for it (yes they are still around). The trains in the back just look like old Comet trains, blue and red does seem to fit the colors of the coaster. Look at the main sign for the comet when you are in the station, its blue and red, so that is probably where they are from.

Maybe they will be restored and put back on the rails (that seems to be the new Northeast PA trend).

Heres A Response From Waldameer:

Rctycoon2k - The wood piles you saw are our supply of railroad ties for the train track. The old coaster cars are from the Comet coaster. The owner is holding on to them, we have not made a decision what to do with them. We never signed a contract with CCI to build the Ravine Flyer 2 coaster - they did preliminary design work for us for a fee. When we win the approval to build the coaster (get the permits) we will then decide who will be the final designer and builder. Yes, Gravity Group will be considered.Steve Gorman
