old pirate ride at CP

A few months ago I saw a report on Cedar point in the off season and the reporter said pointing to a old pirate (from the pirate ride) these old guy will be debut in may. If some of you do not know the Pirate ride was located were the Quarter deck arcade was. On May 4 I whent to look at the Quarter deck arcade and all the games were gone. You can even see the imprint of the old tracks. If any of you know when or if the ride will be installed please respond.

This ride is very important to me it was the ride that turned me on to coaster.

That's what Arrow dark rides will do to you ;). I highly doubt that we'll see another darkride occupy that building unfortunately. Last I heard, it's being used for storage for the park. Although I was intrigued to see that all the games were not present on Opening Day.
Wow, that would be incredible. Seems incredibly unlikely, though.
For those interested in a little history of the ride here you go...

Sadly, I never got to ride it. I like to look at the old track lines in the arcade and sigh deeply.

Half of the old ride building is the Park Services storage area. The other half was the arcade. I haven't heard of any plans to go back to the old Pirate ride.

I loved that and the Earthquake ride.....they scared the living piss out of me when I was really little! :)

The neck stretch scene in the pirate ride was quite funny, and I was sorry to hear of this ride's departure. I wish dark rides had more draw for parks like CP, but I guess that's just the way it goes.
Both the Earthquake and the Pirate ride came from Freedomland, the short lived theme park in NYC. Freedomland had quite a few dark rides. Another one,the Tornado, went to Kennywood, and later to Great Escape.
