Old Indiana

Does anyone know what Six Flags is going to do with Old Indiana? All I know is that there are coasters stored at this area.

I certainly dont KNOW, but I have a strong suspicion it's kinda the "graveyard" for SF.....*bummer*
In my opinion, I think it would be a good idea for the park to be reopened, (probably without the coasters except the kiddie and bobsled and maybe one of the looping) and setup the classic rides that other Six Flags parks remove. I would love to see a rotor, the old Geauga Rocket Ships, etc that parks remove. Sort of like a fair setup.

I too think it would be a good investment if Six Flags reopened Old Indiana. It might bring more business to that part of Indiana and attract more people to Indiana Beach, too. But yeah, it's basically looking like a Six Flags graveyard. *Shrugs*

It would be nice for another boost ti Indiana tourism, in competition with Ohio probably. It doesn't seem to have any good coasters, though. Maybe, if they ever open it, they could get a CCI or 2.

I go by where Old Indiana used to be quite frequently and everytime I go by there tears get in my eyes thinking WHAT IF?!?!? There could be much done to get this park up and going again.

As of right now, the coaster wheels and such are still sitting in a building on site. The area is still patrolled and there is a worker who tends to the lot.

They are keeping it alive, but thats about it. The site still remains a storage space.

IMO the principal reason that SF bought the Old Indiana site was to prevent anybody else from reopening it.They have properties that are just a little too close to this site. It is possible that sometime in the future it may be rebuilt, but the stigma of the old park and the accident that lead to it's closing is still fresh in the minds of the population in the area. In the meantime it's a good central location to store surplus equipment.

No. Read the description at rcdb and Rideman's website. Premier Parks bought it with the intention of reopening it. They got sidetracked buying Six Flags and have not advanced on the Old Indiana plans (yet). That is why they bought it.

Actually, if you just call them up and ask them, they will tell you what they are doing. All they said right now is that they dont have any current plans to rebuild it, but they are just using it as a storage area to ship the roller coasters out if they want to add a "new ride" to a park.

They could move some of that stuff to Wyandot Lake ;)

i don't know how much you can rely on what they tell you though, because lets see what SFGAm tells me when i ask them what their future coaster plans are...where is this place in relation to Indianapolis, because Indianapolis is a pretty big population that does not have a major park within an hour's drive...SF should think about milking that location for what it's worth...

Yea honestly I think Six Flags needs to move some of those rides instead of letting them rot. There are alot of great rides that they could use at their parks instead of buying new ones. Another bad move by Six Flags.
