OK Computer Geniuses...what's the deal???

Although I am not an expert on computers, I would say I am pretty well versed, but, I am at a loss to why this is....

If I go to the CP web page index in the evening, I can usually view two of the three webcams 'live' (usually the wide angle shot of TTD stops updating around 6pm). Well, if I click on the other two webcams, instead of getting the live photo, I get the photo that also occurred around 6pm.

Why can I see the live photo on the index page, but I can't see it on the actual webcam? Is it something I am doing (I have my pages to update automatically, but a manual refresh does the same thing)?

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.
Mabey you have to delete your offline files everytime. I have to do this with my control panel for the site.

Maybe it's somthing screwed up on the website (like a bad link) that shows an early picture.

I'm getting the same thing as you though. When I click on all the cams now it's tells me they are archived pictures from earlier. I guess they figure that people on the midway are cooler than just darkness.

Exactly.

It seems the wide shot (inclusive of TTD and MF from the side) is turned off pretty early.

The station cam of TTD, however, usually stays on a bit later, for whatever reason. I don't think this is you or your computer, its CP's website/cams.

There's no mystery. The site stops putting up a new thumbnail version after a certain time. It's by design.

I think what they do is stop the cam, and send some one up to TTD, and on the roof of Photo finsh and clean the lens of the camra. Because we all know about the giant bugs that attact Cedar Point all summer!
I'd love to be the guy cleaning the lens on the TTD tower-mounted cam everyday. That'd be a cool way to kill a half hour at work.

Well, I am happy to know that it's not me. I had not thought about Alexander's reasoning and that makes more sense to me now, which is why it would be designed that way.

Thanks everyone!
