Ohio Trip Plan

I would never advise someone to go to SFKK by itself but to even contemplate going there over HW? Wow.

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!
Well coming from someone that did this last year, the wife and I flew into Louisville (SFKK is like a mile away if that) from the airport.

Holiday World, Beech Bend and KI are no more than 2 hours away from Louisville so if you are flying, definitely try Louisville (cheaper airfare than flying into Cincy)

Haven't been to GL so I wouldn't know about how many days but when I went to CP it took 2 days and that was getting on all the roller coasters one time (lines were horrible on weekdays when I went)

Let's shoot us some deer Joe Joe!!!!

If driving, take 80 to GL for half a day (my friends and I had more than our fill in a half day and made it to CP by 7) Spend the rest of your day and the next at CP. Stop in Dayton for a breather, KI the next day (it can be done in a day for sure, probably with the waterpark unless it's a Saturday, then down to HW.

If Flying, do the opposite. Or start in Dayton, it's pretty cheap to fly in and out of there. Good luck with your trip.

Not sure what part of Utah you are in, and I haven't flown them in a while, but you may want to check Allegiant Air. They fly into Toledo, they were the cheapest flight for me as a last minute flight back to Ohio from Vegas for Christmas. I bought the ticket about a month before Christmas, it was about half the price to fly into Columbus, Dayton, Cinci, or Cleveland. They are a small airline, very good prices. The owner of the airline is a major investor in the company I work for, so I know they have made some changes to their routes lately, but as to what those changes are, I don't know. Can't hurt to check them out. It's an easy drive to CP from Toledo, as is Dayton and beyond.

If your going to fly into Ohio only deal with Akron Canton Regional or Cleveland Hopkins, Columbus and Cincy are barely regional airports at best.

I suggest doing only 1/2 day at GL then going into Cleveland for the rest of the day. Get a good taste of midwest big-city life.

I would drive though seeing all the traveling you plan on doing once you get there.

Ok, so we kind of need to hear a travel update from X-Mania at this point...it's been a while!!

YES! Glad to not have to worry about this.

Well, I've been researching airfares - thanks for all the suggestions including Allegiant Air (Unfortunately, no flights from LV to Toledo or Louisville at the moment), but it looks like I missed all the great deals already. I'm hoping something will come up in the next month or so.

So, depending on the cheapest airfare, my travel plans look like this:

Fly into Louisville on Tuesday the 7th. 8th at HW, 9th at KI, travel to Dayton.

10/11th at Dayton, travel to GL.

1/2 day at GL on the 12th, Starlight at CP

13th at CP, fly out of Cleveland or Detroit on the 14th.

I may fly in on the 6th instead to go hit Beech Bend on the 7th.

OR

Fly into Detroit/Cleveland on the 7th Hit CP 8th and 1/2 9th, GL Starlight

10/11th Dayton, 12th KI, 13th HW, and fly out of Louisville on the 14th.

I think that should have me in Coaster Nirvana for a while at least!

I would do CP last. After all my trips with multiple parks, CP just ruins the other parks. Because of the amount of coasters, and it's just a better park. The first trip is an awesome one. GL is not worth a starlight. I didn't even know they had a starlight. What are the tickets, $10? Plus the 8th and 9th are 4th weekend, and for your first time at CP, I think. Maybe not. But who knows, But lines are going to be LONG. On those days you'll be lucky to ride a coaster twice, without waiting most of your day. But it should be fun.
