Ohio Theme Parks

I'll try and break it down a bit.

If you're flying into to Pittsburg, KW is right there of course. From KW, it's a two hour drive at most to SFWoA. From SFWoA, it's a 2 hour drive at most to CP. From CP, it's 3, maybe 4 to PKI. From PKI, it's 2 at most to SFKK. Finally, from SFKK, it's 1 hour to HW! I agree with Brian, if you have that many days, take it easy. Don't try and make rediculous drives, like we do! LOL. We once went to SFoG and drove back home to Ohio that night. That's tough, and you don't want to do something like that if you don't have too. I'm not sure that SFKK is worth it. It's an alright park though, and even though we are only 2 hours from it, only visit it once a year, if that. I guess it comes down to what you want to accomplish. If you want to try and get a lot of other tourist things in, then I'd maybe skip it for a day in Cincy or something.

Someone mentioned the Air Force museum. There is also the Cincinnati Museum Center, Art Museums, and plenty of other things to do.

I would recomend flying into Cleveland becasuse it has the non-stop from London. From there you have a fairly decent loop. Cleveland to Aurora (the south east side of the city) is 45 minutes to SF WOA. From WOA to Pittsburgh it's about two hours for KW. KW to PKI is five hours. Four hours from PKI to Sandusky. An hour and a half back to Cleveland for the return flight. One whole day at WOA travel, one day KW, travel, two at PKI in Cincinnati, travel, two days at CP, fly= ten days nine nights. YOu could add in a leg to SF KK in Louisville and Holiday World for a couple of more days even. But beyond that you are getting a little off of the beaten path.
While in the Cleveland area, be sure to hit Chippewa Lake ;) *adding my 2 cents to the confusion*

Model coasters and rides
OK thanks a load for everyone's help. I am now trying to find flights to various places- they all seem pretty expensive at the moment though. Once we have found the best flights etc. we'll then plan some route around the theme parks. Again thanks a lot for all your help, but i may come back and plague you with more questions nearer the time!

The best advice I can give you:

1. Fly into Cleveland. I like Cincinnati's airport better than Cleveland's, but avoid the Cincinnati Airport because Delta has a monopoly on the market, and airfares are often double than what they are otherwise. Even people in Cincinnati avoid that airport.

2. After landing in Cleveland, travel about 45 min. to SFWoA. Spend two days if you want to do the rides, waterpark, and wildlife areas.

3. Travel about 2 hours to Cedar Point, and spend two days; the park is huge. I can do all the coasters in one day, but if it's your first time, you'll want to take your time and possibly jump in the waterpark or rent a jetski. You can get a Rides/Waterpark 2 day ticket for $60, or less if you find a discounter. Word of caution: Avoid weekends at all costs. Early June on a weekday is a good time. Then again, any park in Ohio is good to avoid on the weekend, but CP especially.

4. Travel about 4 hours to PKI. One day should be good enough. Although two would be nice so you're not rushed and so you can do the waterpark--and the waterpark is free.

5. Travel four hours back to Cleveland and fly back home.

As far as a town to hang out in, after living in both cities for several years each, I would pick Cleveland over "the Natti" anyday. I'll probably get flamed by those from southern Ohio for this, but Cleveland has much more to do, a livelier nightlife, variety of attractions, and (generally speaking), people are a little more friendly to out-of-towners. Cincinnati does have casinos in the outlying areas, if you enjoy gambling. That said, keep in mind neither city is on par with New York or San Francisco as far as size and attractions.

I would recommend SFWoA on Thurs-Fri, hang out in Cleveland on Sat-Sun, CP Mon-Tue, use Wed to travel, and then onto PKI Thus-Fri.

Have Fun!
