Ohio parks raising prices for next season

According to WKYC in Cleveland, Paramount's Kings Island will raise their admission by $2 to $42, Cedar Point will also reach $42 by going up $3, and Six Flags Worlds of Adventure will go to $40, up $2 from last year.

Wasn't Cedar Point $32 in 1999?  Three years and two Intamins later, wham bam, $10 more.

About the hotels...

It's all about Priceline.  I stayed at a Towneplace Suite for $28 (yes, that is correct, and that included tax) for PKI closing weekend.  The best room I ever stayed in (for a non-family coaster trip).

If it's not priceline, I haven't gone wrong yet with Motel 6.  They are RARELY over $40.  Been staying with them for tons of nights, that's how I've been able to afford to go on so many trips. :)

Good lookin' with the hotel info. For some reason I've been hestitant to use expedia, priceline, etc. I guess I'll have to change my ways.

Sorry for turning this into the "help chris save a buck" thread.

When I left CP in 1974, the first year for total POP, the gate was $6.95. Gas was about 75 cents gallon(just a year before it had been half that). Ride hosts were paid a whopping $1.85/hr plus a 25 cent/hr bonus if you completed your contract. Everything is reletive. It's still one of your best entertainment values.
One more suggestion on saving money on hotels/motels is to pick up one of those magazines at the travelplazas. I got a double occupancy room for about $40 (with cable & HBO) in Moneroeville near Kennywood with a coupon. Also, gas looks to be a lot cheaper next summer if things hold at the current level.

SFA 2002-What are they building?

I though about this for a while and figured if people can pay 50(or more) bucks to get into a concert or Pro-sporting event there will be plenty of people that will gladly pay the dollar or two more.  I worked for a park that did not eaven scrape the bottem of CP's barrel and thay charged a little over half what CP charges.  It is like going to a hockey game if you want to sit down on the ice you pay a little more if you want to sit in the nose bleeds then you payless.(Natalie will like this analigy)
Another thing to consider is that there are many coupons and discounts available for CP and SF:WOA (I would assume PKI has similar deals).  There are $10+ discounts on Pepsi cans for CP or the AAA discount.  Some local grocery stores (Tops, I think) and Wendy’s had discounts for WOA.  Plus CP sent me $10 coupons last year.  The way I figure it, a day at an amusement park is still cheaper then an average round of golf.
Maybe people should stop commenting that the admission fee is very cheap, and perhaps they would stop raising the admission to earn more money. ;)

You can't spell "dishonorable" without "honorable."
This actually isn`t new news to PKI as the last couple of weekends, general admission was $41.99

I`ve ridden Son of Beast 67 times!
I don't think I've ever paid more than $30 for a Cedar Point ticket.  A local grocery chain (Meijer) has a deal with them where ticket prices are about $10 cheaper or so.  Also, my local city hall has tickets for $10-$15 cheaper.
Yeah it all depends how picky you are or aren't at the overnight's stay kind-of-thing. I don't mind econo lodges, but I won't usually do the local "hole in the walls". :) I also remember when CP admission was $16!

Den, I don't suppose you have been playing excessive amounts of RCT? :)

people have to be stupid to pay full price admission. U can get discounted tix anywhere. at PKI the gas station right next to it has coupons. Cp coupons are everywhere so its ez to nock of 7 or 8 bux
Well there goes the saving account.

The more money the Park get the more big rides they will build.
