State Department of Health inspectors found no safety hazards at Knoebels Amusement Resort’s Crystal Pool on Thursday as the parents of the 6-year-old Wilkes-Barre boy who died while swimming there lauded park staff for trying to save him.

As tragic as this story is, it's nice to see the parents thanking the rescuers instead of immediately threatening lawsuits, which has become the norm for these kinds of things.

Instead of a lawsuit, I wonder how effective starting a "memorial fund for __" would be in cases like these; to pay for funeral expenses and junk, and maybe a portion to water safety depending on the response.

Maybe his parent are reasonable people who understand that the park had nothing to do with the boy's untimely death?
My condolences to the family. This is terrible news for all of us to hear, but I can't imagine what they are going through.
