Of course, length is but one small part of the "practicality & functionality" of the ride.

if you cant see, the stats are E=7.36 I=9.97 and track length=5,800 ft. i guess it was too long.
Another thing I've seen in some entries is no seat rotation. Read that again. NO SEAT ROTATION! Man, what were these people thinking. Seat rotation doesn't effect the stats at all. Just throw something together that looks kind of right. I spent less than a half hour on the seat rotation on my entry and it was the very last thing I did. It's far from perfect, but it makes sense and there are some nice rolls and head first dives in there. I think this just adds to the ride and is an obvious addition. If you entered but didn't have the coaster seats rotate, you desrve to have your RCT disc broken over your head.
<begin off topic rant about coaster length>
I'm a stickler about coaster length in RCT though. It's my number one pet peeve. I'd rather see a coaster that feels "short" than one that's stupid long. 9 times out of 10 if you see me give a low score around here, it has to do with the length of a ride. I'm like that for a couple of reasons:
1. Length boosts excitement. Sometimes it's clear that a given ride has such good stats just because of the length. Sure a 9 or 10 exctiement is impressive on a big coaster, but it's exponentially more impressive as the coaster gets shorter.
2. Real life rides aren't usually excessively long. As a general rule of thumb I like rides to be under a mile long (5280 feet). Yes, in real life these longer rides exist, but they're usually the exception to the rule...and like all things I can see exceptions in the RCT world. It's just a general rule - like E>I>N.
3. Scenario play. Longer coasters tend to take up more space, cost more and move less peeps. All negative if you play scenarios (and I do).
The one word that best describes the coasters I like?
Efficient.
So everybody get out there and start making coasters that I like! ;)

Remember that if you're one in a million, that means that there are 5000 other people on Earth, just like you.
About seat rotation, I too threw this in at the end - but it actually DID affect my stats(?), and the intensity went into the red range. So I had to take the seat rotation out except for minor parts like the lift hill.
Anyways, anyone know any other RCT contests I can enter to make myself feel better? :)

I'd expect the RCT website to add the winners sometime relatively soon.

I got the same thing a RCT2 Board Game. Mine was for the high age group. We now need to start making a list of each of the winners that are CB members.
