Off-site learning opportunities very popular at IAAPA

Orlando-area attractions big and small will serve as living laboratories for IAAPA attendees who, eager to learn how it's done in the theme-park capital of the world, sign up for one or more of a half-dozen industry tours. Aquarium and museum directors may be drawn to Epcot's Seas with Nemo & Friends, to see the educational potential of that pavilion's high-tech Turtle Talk with Crush show. Give Kids the World will serve as a showcase for leisure resorts designed with the Americans with Disabilities Act in mind. And others attending the giant convention may want to visit Fun Spot USA ("It's Huge!") for tips on how to market a small attraction.

I have to say that little things they do at the GKTW Village are pretty remarkable from an accessibility standpoint. (Blog post about my visit here.) The carousel is flush to the surrounding platform. The mini-golf course has extra-wide greens for chair access. The big pool area is completely awesome and they have water capable wheel chairs. They also have a huge playground with ramps all around it, which is probably not practical in most places, but it's really neat to see.

Jeff, I hadn't seen that blog post before, and I'm really glad I did. In doing the CFK event two years running, I've learned a little about the organization, met and corresponded with Kara, and spread the word. But I never really had a feel for what kinds of things were actually at the village, and this blog post has helped me get that feel. So thank you for posting it here, and I look forward to next year's event.
