Off season speculation (CP Swan boat repacement)

Are we seeing a trend? A format? Is it a little foreshadowing? CP again is giving MA a CP leftover. And once again opening up real estate. Can we expect another coaster along that footprint?
<sarcasm on>Come on... Do we really think we will get a new coaster next year??? <sarcasm off>

After all, the swan boats occupied SO MUCH SPACE.

(not.)

I think he means in the future not necessarily this coming season.

Cedar Point -How an amusement park should be run.

A year or two ago I had an idea which I still think would work for that area. I'd like to see a super soaker coaster put in to interact with Snake River Falls and Thunder Canyon. I think this would be great fun for riders and non-riders alike.
Not in 2004, but 2005? Maybe...

Removing that ride will not make enough room for a new major coaster. But, it could pave the way for a station platform, with track extending to the outer western edge of the land. Or, they may remove/relocate the old u-drive-em cars and use that space for a coaster as well.

However, that is Frontier Town, and a major coaster set right in the middle of it may spoil the atmosphere; not sure if CP wants that. Regardless, I'm sure they have something up their sleeves.

Great topic, by the way!

I can see it now. The tallest. fastest, steepest, and wettest Setpoint super-saturater in the world. They couldn't do anything less. Of course that would mean a lot more trees will be mercilessly cut down. ;)

Wood - anything else is an imitation

I just think they took the ride out because no one was ridding the Swan boats what a worker tould me when I was at CP. I got on he tould me this was most people he has saw all year in line. Plus I think that TTD helped after it broke down after going for 3 hours.
Call me crazy, but maybe a new flat ride? I bet nobody would see that one coming.
I was referring to 05. I'm talking about the area from Thiunder Canyon, over the antique cars, and to White Water Landing.
I think maybe a Premier or Mach water coaster would fit better, I bet they could even modify their existing flume to make it the log ride portion of the ride then have the roller coaster go off into the trees by the rapids and then have the final big dramatic splashdown right down the middle of snake water falls' layout. Of course that would involve building a bridge for the main path because a tunnel that close to the waterfront would be an engineering nightmare.

2022 Trips: WDW, Sea World San Diego & Orlando, CP, KI, BGW, Bay Beach, Canobie Lake, Universal Orlando

I'd also like to see a coaster in that area that reflects the Fronteir Town feel.

Actualy, a setpoint supersoaker would look great where the peanuts wasteland.....errr, I mean playground now sits.

The front of the park has lacked a water ride since the removel of the mill race(rip).

I keep hoping for a flyer or 4D either replacing Mean streak or within the infield.

Either could be done and neither would bother me one bit. Honestly, I don't really see Mean Streak lasting much longer.

Hey Crazy Horse why would you want a water ride in the front of the park when they are all in the back, its better to keep all of your wate rides in one section of the park.
I don't think that the idea that the swan boats don't take up much space means much....if you would've told people that they took out the Dodgems to put a 420' coaster in back in 2002, I doubt anybody would've believed you. I'm certainly not saying that it'll be as huge as TTD, but I think it is very possible that the swan pond will be used either as the location or part of the location for a new attraction in Frontiertown. Of course this will lead to the classic debate of what will ruin the atmosphere ect, ect. Personally, I would just love to hear the loud roaring of a B&M back there...

This removal could mean just about anything. But CP has done some removal or moving in the past and what do you know, a major ride appears there a year later. There is the Dodgems example of course, and if I remember correctly, wasn't the train ride moved in some way prior to the 1999 season to make way for MF? If you ask me, Mean Streak needs a partner in crime real bad so I hope they are making way for a coaster back there. There is nothing like a little CP speculation in the dead of winter.

Maybe Snake River Falls will be moved to Michigan, and replaced by the world's tallest, fastest, and steepest Intamin splash down.

A Hyper Shoot The Chutes?

It's obvious they are going to replace something there because they haven't built anything over there since Snake River Falls in 1993. A B&M looks good because two other Cedar Fair parks are getting them. Or who knows Intamin come up with another coaster for CP. The possibilties are endless.

Or it could mean they wanted to expand the lineup at Michigan's Adventure.

Wish list in progres...
